I felt strongly enough to comment. I'm not a Londoner and recently visited this Boots at Waterloo station for some analgesia for terrible shoulder pain during my journey. The shop assistant was lovely and directed me to right product and paid for medication at the pharmacy till. The pharmacist was also very professional. I declined taking a reciept because I didn't need it... On exit I had the strangest interaction with the security guard asking directly "did you buy drugs?". "Lemme see your reciept" to which I explained I had not taken one. I almost felt frightened the way he approached me. I asked if he wanted to see the transaction on my banking app or if I should return to get one. Bizarre. Boots you need to train this security guard! What a way of speaking to customers... I felt more threatened than secure. Not surprised there has been another comment about this. Customers should be approached with dignity and respect. Not sure what this was... Needs help...
Read moreI was booked to get the second dose of a two part vaccine here on Thursday. I had had the appointment booked for weeks, and I travelled into London especially for it. When I was arrived, I was told that they didn't have the vaccine (in spite of being assured it had been put aside for me), as the "fridges were broken." They didn't have an answer when I asked why I hadn't been informed that they didn't have the vaccine, if they'd known about this problem. I was then told to go to another Boots around the corner and try there. When I asked the manager to call the other Boots and see if they had any vaccine in stock before I went traipsing out into the rain, he said that the others Boots didn't have a phone! Shockingly bad customer service. Fortunately, there is another Boots around the corner in Waterloo, where a very helpful pharmacist was happy to vaccinate me - and they did indeed have a phone after all. Really poor show from Boots in Waterloo Station, I won't...
Read moreI have just had the singular experience of attempting to buy a box of Day & Night Nurse capsules at Boots Waterloo. Two petty, officious counter staff at the pharmacy refused to sell it to me. I had explained that I had just started to feel like I was coming down with a cough & cold, feeling chesty and shivery, and wanted to have the Day & Night in case the cold developed. I was asked if I had nasal congestion and when I said that at this moment I didn’t, I was told that “we can't sell it to you if you don't have the correct symptoms”. I’ve no idea if they thought I was about to start an international drug ring with my box of Day & Night and the huge motherlode of pseudoephedrine contained in those 24 capsules. I'm actually just a tired, under-the-weather commuter who wanted to buy a...
