Have passed this location in Waterloo for a number of years while visiting. It is usually busy on the weekends when I am in town and have skipped it not wanting to wait. This year I had an opportunity to go when it was less crowded during the week and really enjoyed it. The beer selection was good, lots of options for those who like to try a variety of pours. I had a hamburger and it was quite good. Burger was a little more done than I like, but I find that is the usual result in the UK, it must be a health standard but overall the burger was quite good. The English know how to make a proper bacon slice and it is way better than the American version so I really liked it. The only knock was the service. The waitress was a little off that night and there was a slight communication/understanding barrier between us. She disappeared when it was time to pay so we had to get a manager to get the check, otherwise I really enjoyed the place. Very cool interior too, worth a visit just to see how they have saved the inside of the old fire station.

Been here as part of a large group so decided to return as a couple. When we arrived it was 2 for 1 on cocktails but the barman was clearly not familiar in making them! 2 Pina Colada & 2 Expresso Martinis took 30 mins & the guy still needed help. We were patient as we knew he was struggling but that's not really acceptable. I paid after about 20 minutes taking 2 to the eating area & the guy brought the other 2 to our table. He did thank us for our patients. The menu was pretty disappointing too. Most dishes were spicy (which I don't like) so we ended up with 2 burgers costing us almost £37 ! Service in the food area was good & the place was clean & tidy but I don't think I'd return to eat or reccomend it to anyone else. Cocktails were good when we finally got them & the 2 for 1 makes them a reasonable price Good location, close to Waterloo Station or The Old Vic theatre

The place offers brunch, but when I last visited it was out of sweet options and this was not advertised in advance: the waiter only mentioned that what I have choosen was unavailable and only after my second choice mentioned that they only had Ice-cream. The situation could have been managed better as it could have been a dealbreaker and have led to a different choice of venue if known beforehand. However, the 'Full English' was reported good by the other guests and they were pretty happy with their choice. To add to the confusion, the online menu doesn't show any sweet option for the brunch (which are instead available in the physical menu). It would be sufficient to share with the client an up to date version of the menu and be consistent in the communication. What a pity!

Unfortunately we had quite a disappointing visit at the Fire Station. We booked for a bottomless brunch for 3 people and were very let down by the service. We ordered promptly after arriving and it then took 30 minutes to receive our first drinks order which came after our food. The food was also not as expected with the hash brown nachos arriving cold as if they had been sat around waiting to be served to us. We had all been to bottomless brunches at other establishments and were expecting a similar service whereby the server would replenish our drinks as we ordered them. However in the first half (one hour) of our booking here, we had only had 2 Prosecco drinks each. Even though we were constantly trying to get the servers attention but often found there were no staff members in the section we were sat. At one point we had been waiting half an hour to be served a drink so went up to the bar but unfortunately were told we could not order up there. We were very frustrated and let down by the service and were disappointed at the price per person for the service we received. We even asked the server at one point if it was really busy could we order two drinks to save them the back and forth, at this they said, “no, it’s not too busy”. We felt frustrated at this as it seemed we were just being forgotten about in our section and often saw the server sat down performing other job tasks rather than serving us as we tried to get their attention. Due to this we would not return to this site and won’t be recommending to others. Really...

Cool atmosphere and the food was delicious. It seemed like our server was brand new and struggled taking our order. We ordered drinks, starters and mains in one go. It took a little bit for our drinks to arrive and the host was the one who ended up delivering it. All of our food arrived at the same time, when we pointed this out out to the server he just said it’s a fast kitchen. One of the starters we asked for didn’t arrive. We asked about it and it took two times to get it to the waiter. The food was good, but it seemed like there was an issue in the kitchen as I watched two gentlemen get two rounds of drinks and then sit for a long time. One of them kept moving the vinegar around the table to try and get the attention of the server but to no avail. They paid for the drinks and left. We finished our meal, the plates were taken away and were then told it would be a few more minutes for the mushrooms. We had to tell them we were done eating and to take it off the bill. They did, but it seemed very odd. Slightly frustrating as we were trying to take advantage of the 3 starts for 23 pounds deal. We also never got asked for a second round of drinks, which would have entitled one of our party to an extra drink through a buy 1 get one deal on the menu. It was busy but got less busy as dinner went on. But it was a...

Food was mediocre and we expected better quality to be honest. Nachos were especially disappointing as there were no fresh ingredients, the toppings clearly came out of bottles and the dish took less than 5 minutes to arrive after we placed our order.

However the reason for my low score was the attitude of the manager when we tried to redeem the 30% discount on mains that was advertised on the website. Despite me requesting this when ordering (as stated on the website), the waitress was not able to apply the code and had to request the manager. He then proceeded to tell me I should have applied this when booking the table (which is not indicated on the website, nor is there anywhere to apply the code when making a reservation).

Never have I experienced such a hostile response from a manager, nor had to argue my case to get a discount applied! I found the whole experience very upsetting, the managers attitude spoilt the start of a nice night out to celebrate my husbands birthday.

For the sake of an £8 discount, the manager has lost any future custom from me and my husband and I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone due to the awful lack of...
