I just had the worst RACIST experience at this store 10 minutes ago, around 11:30. I went to the store and asked to buy two Ghost-type colognes. Because I was speaking Greek, the saleswoman assumed I was intending to steal them. Also, because I was speaking to my sister in Greek via video call to confirm if they were the right colognes, the saleswoman assumed I was planning to steal from her. During my purchases, the saleswoman wouldn't leave me and my companions (my wife and aunt) alone. When we reached the self checkout , the saleswoman wouldn't let go of the colognes in her hands to ensure I would pay in full. Also ,the security guy told her to let as pay and leave our stuff, but she didnât.At first, I politely asked her to leave the colognes and simply stand next to me to watch, but she rudely refused and kept holding onto them until she saw I was going to pay. I should note that throughout this, she and the security guard were standing next to us. Finally, I asked her to step away, leave the products, and call the manager because her behavior was putting me in a very difficult position. However, both the security guard and she told us the manager was absent. I asked her for her name, but she refused to give it to us. I hope this message reaches the management of the stores so they can understand the quality of their staff. The worst experience of my life.
*Also I want to by more products, but she gave me not time to choose any other products.
Thank you to Neil the pharmacist for allowing me to provide this 1 star review - from a fellow pharmacist to another, I really hope your level of customer service (or lack thereof) isn't the standard for UK pharmacists!
I approached the scripts out counter where Neil was standing and said good morning, only to be met with silence at first, followed by "do you have a script?". After I stated no, that I did not and before I could even finish my sentence, Neil stated that I was "in the wrong place - the cash register is over there", pointing behind me, all the while not even bothering looking up to make eye contact as he spoke. I had to explain that I was after a behind the counter medication, Neil then proceeded to tell me "well I have prescriptions that I need to check before 12. Go stand over there and I'll get someone to help you".
Neil, I'd like to suggest that if you are too busy to 1. acknowledge customers 2. greet them back or 3. assist them because you are busy checking scripts, that you perhaps stand in the dispensary where you would be...
Read moreWent in twice to buy nothing but an energy drink. The first time I tried to use self service but because the drink required ID I had to try and find someone to approve it. There was nobody around so I went to the counter where I was served by someone who was visibly annoyed at having to serve me to my item. I got given a disgusted look and completed the transaction without a word.
The next day I went to purchase the same thing and again had to wait at the self service tills for someone to appear and approve me. It took the security guard to go and find a member of staff before it got approved, making me late for my meeting. (As it happens the security guard was friendly and helpful unlike the shop staff)
I understand that they need to ID customers on self service but they do not need to be so miserable when they do so, and they should have staff members available to approve items...
