Brooks and Brooks Hairdressing — Local services in London

This was my first visit to brooks and brooks after my go to salon was closed.

The hairdresser I saw is definitely extremely skilled and nice, but I have been left with an ugly, severely short haircut that does not suit me or in anyway resemble the asymmetrical bob that we discussed and agreed on.

The haircut itself was a seemingly very technical cut with lots of flipping about that was difficult to follow. By the time I realised how wrong things were going it was too late. I have been left with a very short, severe haircut that has been dramatically thinned out so it is extremely flat, all length and volume are gone. on. It does not suit me, and does not look like it was done with consideration for my actual appearance. It is everything that I hate in a haircut.

Once washed and my usual texture reset it now sits even shorter and completely unmanageable, which is disappointing when the hairdresser kept referring to needing to see my texture and to allegedly cut for it.

I can only assume everyone in the salon agreed that it was a disaster as the hairdresser kept asking me how I felt and the two very nice People at the front desk were tripping over themselves to assure me it looked good. Stupidly I just nodded because it was that or freak out.

It will be months before I can get enough growth to get a cut even approaching what I wanted, and for it to be a manageable length for my hair type and day to day life.

The hairdresser is clearly extremely technically skilled, and it was interesting to watch her. But she was extremely distracted throughout, kept walking away, and ultimately didn’t do what she said she would. I am extremely upset and don’t know what to do when I go back into work on Monday.

Also apparently boiler issues meant that the hot water ran out midway through the shampoo, and it had to be finished with frigid cold water. The card machines were also down. While these are out of control technical issues, it was not a...

I cannot recommend Simone highly enough.

We have been working together for nearly a year now, and the change not just in my hair but also my confidence has been incredible.

I have been taking Master-classes with Simone. We started by looking at the current condition of my hair and he expertly advised which products would be best. He also gave great advice for my hair routine. He then taught me how to re- create the professional blow- dry you get when you visit a hair salon. He was patient and encouraging at every step.

A year on, my hair has been completely transformed. It is silky smooth and so manageable. I am now confident doing my own blow dry for both day to day and high profile events.

I have also saved money because I use my hair products more efficiently, and need fewer visits to the salon.

And for special occasions such as interviews and performances, of course I do still ask for Simone's support- he really is the best and really brings out the A-list star in you!

I am so upset, I did have a very good hair cut with Jamie But I had the worst experience in my life with the hair colour. I came with a light ash brown all over box colour which I have explained to the colour director and asked for half head lighter balayage. When the whole process finished I couldn’t see any difference at all. It was slightly more red and not even orange. I strongly believe that the bleach was washed off too soon. I much more preferred to how my colour looked beforehand. No one at work noticed any difference to my colour. I am so upset to have wasted my time and £190. I did call back and have been offered to come back with another person however after having such a bad experience with a colour director I am too worried to go back for colour correction to Brooks and Brooks. I have booked appt for the colour correction at another salon and asked if I can get a refund from brooks and brooks however refund has been refused. I strongly do not recommend anyone to do a hair colour at Brooks and Brooks, it’s the worst hair colour in the last 22 years.
