This has always been a very busy interchange between the Tube and Thameslink; the later being the only north-south through London service. When Crossrail (the Elizabeth Line) finally gets commissioned, this is where the two through London services will meet. Unsurprisingly, the entire area has been a massive building site for years but, amazing, the station has still kept open; albeit now with two entrances (which confuses a lot of visitors). Too many of the staff are just grumpy - although I do understand that commuters can be horrible people. Also, if you’re looking to touch-out from the Tube to board a mainline (ticketed) service, it’s really hard to find a touch-out point without going upstairs and missing your train. When I’ve politely questioned this I was told that “very few people need this”, which I find hard to believe. A little more customer focus would raise my rating!

Pleasantly surprised by how gorgeous the Elizabeth Line section of the station is. The entire station is wide, spacious, and clean. It's also a nice cozy neighborhood around here, within walking distance to the jewelry street Hatton Garden.

Nicely designed airy station overall but an entrance/ exit on Clerkenwell Road would have been a good idea and would have eased how busy it gets at peak times. Could also do with more lifts now there's the Elizabeth Line level I've waited five minutes on one occasion. The Thameslink ticket office is often closed which is annoying. I shouldn't think that this is a problem for quite a few passengers though as it's a daily occurrence seeing people push through the barriers or tailgate someone, which goes unnoticed by staff and therefore unreported. Another negative is the packs of chuggers who will literally follow you into/ out of the station and make fatuous comments to drum up trade such as "you lookin' sharp there sir" or "you're a very pretty lady". They're there on a daily basis and incredibly pushy. I've been followed as far as the...
