When you make possibly the biggest decision of your life you don't take into consideration that theres a few other pretty big decisions you've got to make along the way. I hate going in to a situation not knowing at least a little something about what I'm talking about. But when I realised having made the decision I wanted to get married and having asked the father I realised for my first big challenge that I knew nothing about buying engagement rings!

I did a little bit of research but I felt I was a little fish swimming into a sea of sharks. And whilst I had an idea of styling based on a picture I had seen, I had no idea about whether that was even achievable. So I got somewhat lucky to stumble upon Diamond Palace.

Chances are you've not been to Hatton Garden. Its somewhat daunting especially for someone with no clue what they are doing. I read reviews on here and had a list of shops to maybe go in, but perusing their windows I find myself struggling to engage. But as Id been climbing the escalator at the tube station I had seen advertisements for Diamond Palace. Do you believe in fate? Cos I do now....

They hadn't even been on my radar. I hadn't even realised I was looking in their shop window when I was politely approached by Sheila asking if I was ok. From the off she was no pressure, polite, reassuring and attentive. I had spotted a design close to what I wanted in their window and decided why the hell not.

From there on in it was made utterly simple for me. I had look at the ring in the window but on producing the picture of the ring that had given me my ideas, Sheila immediately sorted out something even better for me. I was never put under pressure, or sold hard, but given many options and helpful advice.

I had a budget ceiling in mind before Id even gone in, but what I got was something that looked 10 times the price. It was stunning. Add to that some lovely e-mails from Shiela herself gave me reassurance that I had made the correct choice. Since then the question has been asked and not only does my now Fiancee utterly love the ring but the acclaim has been pretty much universal from everyone who has seen it. In fact she's got a bit worried that it might all go to my head such has been the plaudits, but whilst I'm relieved to have got it right, the credit goes to Sheila and the team at Diamond Palace. I owe them a lot and I am eternally grateful to them for their help and assistance and we will certainly be back for the wedding bands.

Unfortunately, I encountered several shops that seemed more interested in pushing their existing stock rather than understanding my needs. The lack of warmth and personalized attention left me feeling increasingly frustrated.

A couple of months ago I purchased an engagement ring for my fiancé from Diamond Palace in Hatton Garden. To say I was a novice in diamonds and jewellery in general would be an understatement, and having looked in a few windows with a colleague of mine yielding a few brief conversations outside a couple of other establishments en route, the decision to take a turn down Greville St and ‘window shop’ Diamond Palace’s display proved to be the best decision I could have made that afternoon.

From the moment Sheila popped her head out to ask if she could help us with anything, to the moment we left a couple of hours later having ordered the ring, I was made to feel at ease and was comprehensively walked through every stage of the process. Sheila took the time to ask all the right questions about my then-girlfriend, and listened attentively to the type of cut that I was looking for, and offered extensive guidance on the most suitable stone for the cut and setting. From there she helped to design and create the perfect ring. My fiancé absolutely loves it.

I was working to particularly tight timelines before going on holiday where I was looking to pop-the-question, and Diamond Palace were able to accommodate these perfectly, providing transparent updates throughout.

I honestly could not speak more highly of the level of assistance provided by Sheila and her colleagues throughout the process of creating the engagement ring, but even more so with the quality of the “after-sale” customer service.

Sheila was always quick to respond to any query that either myself or my fiancé raised, willing to help in whatever way she could whether it be guidance on maintaining and cleaning the ring, or even inviting us back to re-size of the ring for the second time - we were experiencing some particularly warm weather at the time!! It is this kind of loyalty and bespoke service when the transaction has already been “fulfilled” that has really impressed us, and I would not hesitate to recommend to any of my friends.

We will be back for the wedding bands in early 2024, and I’m sure Diamond Palace will be my first port of call for any other special gifts in the future!
