Went to buy a Rab eco waterproof jacket. I tried on two colors and decided to buy one of them. I politely asked them if they price-match with some online-first stores in London, to which they refused. I decided to buy anyway.
While checking out, a male employee condescendingly "asked" me if I wanted to zip up the one color that I had decided not to buy. I had already placed the jacket back in the right place, just forgotten to zip it up because I was in a hurry. His face was like š” and I felt really uncomfortable. He could have asked me politely but he chose not to do so.
I told him that their request and the manner in which it was conveyed was a bit unreasonable as I was paying 40 pounds more than the online prices to buy at their store and they had refused to price-match with Amazon, Nevisport etc. In return they could help me zip up the one jacket I didn't decide to purchase or at least talk to me me in a more respectful way. But no, the guy looked at me very aggressively and told me that they have a "standard to maintain" at the shop. They have 4-5 staff members and this is what they decide to do with a paying customer.
I felt really appalled by his tone of voice and customer service, and when I complained to one of the cashiers', she repeated the same thing and told me that I could leave and buy online instead. While leaving, the other staff members told me to "never come back". I have never heard this statement ever from anyone in my whole life in any situation.
Please don't go to this store. You're paying 50% higher than Amazon prices for no service and just to get humiliated by the staff. I've been to Cotswolds Outdoor, Mountain Warehouse and other chains in the area and never experienced anything like this. The staff here...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI just remembered at the last minute that there was an Outdoor Clothing and Accessories shop on Tottenham Court Road. Luckily when I entered the shop I found what I was looking for. A selection of waterproof coats and jackets. They are ventilated and are made of a breathable fabric. Essential for keeping your temperature down when you carry a backpack š and/or enter a warm building. I had sort of arranged to try on some leather upper walking boots. In the Blacks shop at Saint Paul's. I had heard that the staff had a super good reputation for service. So although I am still not certain about the leather uppers opposed to suede. I have promised myself another visit. Maybe for another item of clothing. All the staff were super helpful and friendly. I was just getting a little bit tired of going into so many Outdoor Sports Clothing shops. And not being able to find the right coat at a competitive price. I was also lucky that the shop had an extension of the Black Friday Sales Event still on. So I was able to save 30-50+% off the normal price. I am also very pleased with the neckerchief scarf that I purchased at the Saint Paul's store. It's not quite the right colour but the pattern is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWorst experience. Have watches on display but no longer have any stock in store. Promised to order online through the store kiosk but turned out my order was cancelled straightaway due to .. having no stock. Was told to come back to store a couple of days later to get a refund as they cannot do it over the phone but the store is shut early for no apparent reason.. on the England match day. I think I know the reason. You have customers' emails but clearly it's not worth informing them of stores closing early.
Not only this, I was sent to the store in Holborn by staff who picked up the phone, which was of course closed when I arrived. Your customer service on the phone when I rang thereafter then confirm that it is known internally that stores are shut early today. So clearly customers mean nothing to you.
This is just not good. I am £400+ out of pocket and being sent around town to retrieve my money....
