I never make reviews ever but I had to make an exception for today. Now to be honest, me and my best friend walked in completely by accident but we stuck around because we were a little embarrassed to walk out immediately lol. But each and every member of staff came to us at one point and greeted us very warmly I was really surprised. We are absolutle newbies when it comes to this so I just thought I'd ask if they'd explain what Warhammer even was as it was a game I'd heard about only in passing. I felt bad because it was a little busy and I didn't want to be a nuisance but they didn't make me feel stupid at all and you could tell these guys are actually passionate about what they do. They greeted each and every person that walked in cheerily, not just us, they answered every question we had happily, and they even explained some of the lore of the models on display (it was Morathi-Khaine because we thought she looked cool). We painted a model each which we could even take home and we played a quick game. It was way more fun than I thought it'd be. I want to applaud each and every member of staff that was on shift today because now me and my best friend plan to try to get into this game. I'm glad to see in the comments that this is not just an isolated experience and they're genuinely this nice all the time. When I'm not such a hopeless beginner, I want to get the treelord ancient because I really liked the way it was...
Read moreI went there looking for Space Marine miniatures and was very surprised at the small selection, seeing as it's a fairly bigger store then others? Walked out with absolutely nothing bought which even included looking through there Forge World range! It was a shame as you don't often come across FW merchandise in GW stores (also was a bit awkward trying to look at due to its shelf location in the store, at the side of the service counter.) Extremely Disappointing and now I will most likely not ever be going to return too again (due to it being a wasted, long journey to get too, out of my way.) Staff were trying to be helpful with my enquiries but couldn't help unfortunately. Strange how other stores cram as much stock as they can in the space that they have (including there window displays) and this one doesn't? It looks more like a designer boutique with all the unused space available! Though there was a nice poster display to look through and other various merchandise in a corner, there wasn't much I was tempted with an instant purchase, not even any scenery/terrain to...
Read moreUtterly terrible, my 11 year old son and my partner went there today, SPECIFICALLY to get a single character model. However the doormat that "assisted" them wasn't just clueless, was beyond it, no one seemed to know the lines that games workshop offered and worse than that was the lack of actual stock, or info on what my little boy had asked about. All they tried to do was find said model online and make him order it, and pay an extra £4 on an already £25 (for ONE figure) to be delivered to the store. To which the reply from me and my partner was well we can do that at home and for free. They left in the end with no models or information. Just a curiousness growing as to why they were selling boxes of models butnwith only bits of the item in it, for example a tank, my son looked, saw the back and realised it wasn't the full tank lol, just some parts of it lol.
This is our second visit to a GW store, and I can totally understand why people shop online. Ignorant, unmotivated, uninformed, uncaring and just plain rice and stupid, these...
