Update: from 2 to 4⭐ (3.5 may be a bit more accurate for the price point, but love a come back story) So I didn't think I would but I was walking past and needed a break so over a year later I popped back, I'm glad I did. 1st time I've ever accepted an offer from a comment response and I never entertained the idea, but to my suprise they graciously honoured their offer for a Alsace Galette (just realised I had the same last time 🤦‍♂️), so I bought a coffee to go with it. Lovely, I enjoyed it and finished it pretty rapidly. Not too filling, but enjoyable. Service was kind and gracious as I said, goes a long way for me and I can forgive the last line of the response. Cutlery was clean. Why can't I rate it heiger? Some of the same front of house issues remain, but today it was very busy. So a better state in a tougher situation is still good progress. When I sat 4 tables were available, 1 was clean but a shared table. I took a window seat and sat with some empties and some crumbs, but not for long, when my coffee arrived it was cleaned pretty quickly! I saw one of my pet peeves, and wish I hadn't, rubbish bags being taken through the front of house. But it's better and the food was good!!! My take away, treat it as shabby chic, it goes with the vibe, but expect something more like a rural side hustle over prime London local and you'll be set-up better to enjoy it. ----- I had the Alsace Galette for lunch, a gluten-free turkey and egg crepe. It was burnt and left a horrible taste. I was going to order dessert and a coffee, but decided against it and just wanted to leave. There seems to be one guy doing most of the cooking, jumping behind the front and back of the house, despite plenty of staff. And this guy is serving the food. I can forgive the unenthusiastic service, he's busy, but not using gloves and very occasional hand washing means things like my cutlery come out dirty after he's handheld them. There seems to be one guy taking orders, one making coffee and one prepping in the back. It's not that busy and I've never seen so many uncleaned tables piled with empties. I have finished eating and have two order number flags at my table, neither have food waiting and one was from before I arrived, they just haven't been collected. This place is just running super inefficiently and it just ruins the atmosphere of such a cute place.

This is my favourite coffee shop on this side of Oxford St. I've been coming here for so long now. Sometimes I eat in, other times it's takeaway. I like the simplicity of the place. No pretence just good coffee, food and snacks. Location: The location is perfect as my office is on the corner. Service: As for the service, it's one of main reasons I return time and time again. I love the staff here. They are friendly, accommodating and truly hardworking. Even at the busiest of times if I happen to pop by for my coffee, you can see all hands on deck; there is no idling. Even if a mistake was made, it is promptly followed up with an apology. Coffee and Food: My fave drink here is the chai latte but quite recently I was introduced to the masala chai. It was divine and possibly my new beverage of choice. If I had to choose my favourite foods, they would be the fermière omelette and the crepe with strawberry, maple syrup and banana. I know other colleagues who frequent this café and they all have positive feedback. It's just a nice place to meet up with friends, work or hideaway, if you don't mind the hustle & bustle. 🤎

I visit this place usually in the evenings. I like reading/writing while sipping my mocha and good background music. It’s a sufi cafe at heart of the central London. You would see Frida kahlo on one of the Glasses outside. There’s some sufi art on the walls inside the cafe. The place has a good vibe and has cosy sitting, with good background music (sometimes). Food and drinks I like galletes at this place. I have tried Grecque and Chevre. They were good and fillings are of optimum quality. They do garnish it well before serving. Bakery items such as crossiant with tomato and cheese is good too. Mostly I drink Mocha with oat milk. It is good as well. It is really a cool place to meet with friends or just relax solo like me. The people working here are super nice and friendly.

Dear owner,

I highly recommend to reconsider to keep your waiter that at the same time is your chef as he is really unpleasant and disrespectful. Unless this unpleasant character is you (The owner or manager) were my arabice here will be to change your incoherent business strategy to capture customers.

Firstly, you should change that advert outside the shop with that “Spiderman” drawing saying “sense of humour” as you don’t transmit any humour or hospitality at all, instead you transmitting a sense of unhappiness, unpleasant, unprofessionalism & unwelcoming.

To share my experience with all, that specific waiter/chef make us wait over an hour because he refuse to serve me and my family. This experience was two weeks ago during a Sunday evening around 17.30. My wife and I decided to use this establishment as Costa and Nero were about close and we want to try something different. In detail, there was nobody queuing at the time and this unpleasant waiter/chef/owner (Or manager) decided to make us wait over 15 minutes without no reason. The other waiter was happily to help us but the main waiter/chef keeping him busy with other tasks. I have been trying to have a full comprehension about this unnecessary waiting time, but as civilise human I decided to giving the option of the doubt and let them carry on with their approach as I have all the time in the world. My surprise was that after 15 minutes, I asked to my wife to order everything while I went to the toilet (Forgot to mention that I came with two kids). I ask the the waiter “where are the toilets” and the unpleasantness waiter interrupted the conversation and told me that the toilet is only for customers only. My high blood pressure came up and the most horrific words were about to come out, but again manners make us human and decided to keep calm and replied “my wife will order now, may I use the toilet please”. To conclude, after ordering and used the toilet my wife order a croissant sandwich for my daughter and this unpleasant waiter decided to make us wait for another 45 minutes because he was now busy arguing with customers and chasing customers that used the toilet after me. And yes, he chase one customer for using his toilet. Finally, he give us the order and put an expire flackjack inside. 🤦🏻

Now I know you will read this review and you will never reply or you will try to remove it, but unfortunately it is nearly impossible to remove this comment, that’s I comment in here. The way you acted was not acceptable even I could say that you racially spotted my wife for being dark colour, as the way you acted and look at her gave that sensation and just to refresh your mind I am white background. You should not judge people by their colour or suit without knowing them or so ever. Furthermore, you are the perfect example why this society is so divided and sick.

At list write an apology and do something...

I went in today minding my own business coming from work. The gentleman at the cashier was so sweet and kind. He had great customer service. While I was waiting for my very overpriced coffee. The barrister making the coffee asked me a question and I responded back to her, she was nice. However this very rude obnoxious man who call himself the manager came overhead us talking and decided to interrupt our conversation by telling me to be patient. I then looked at him very confused as to why I was being treated with such hostile inappropriate behaviour and poor customer service. As I was starting to feel very uncomfortable with the gentleman staring at me while I was waiting for coffee. He then told me to leave and was not having the barista serve me my coffee. Firstly he didn't even refund me my full order and second he calls himself the manager. All the Caucasian customers in front of me he treated them such respect and customer service and I was treated with hostile attitude and clear racism. He should be no manager of any business. The disgusting disappointing part was when I asked the other staff why was treating me like this. The all had such fear in their faces. To be treated with such behaviour is shocking and for a 30 year old women Minding her own business, paying for a coffee to be kicked out by a man who felt the need to kick me out because I asked him why he was staring at me in such an inappropriate way. The manager with the glasses is a Absolute creep...
