I had a brief moment of confusion as to where the entry is, because there are steps up to an apartment block next to it! I was greeted by a charming receptionist at the desk. My jacket was put safely in a cupboard, and there was a place for my wet umbrella, too. I was given a nice clean, soft gown and we went to the hairwash. A very sweet person did my wash using a shampoo that smelled lovely. The seat was an extending, reclining massage one. There was nowhere to put your arms and the massage was nice, but the strength was weak, and a bit meh. The hairwash was thorough, with a great scalp massage (that's optional). Conditioning was done well also. Back upstairs, I was offered a drink. Very refreshing orange juice! The hairdresser Nico, asked what I wanted and listened well. He did a very professional, blowdry and selected good products for my hair. All the hairdressers looked like they were experienced and paid good attention to their clients. The salon was clean without annoying loud music. The toilet was hard to find. It was decorated nicely and had Aësop products. The tap was a bit iffy. The sanitary bin was overflowing. There was a cleaning log on the door showing that the cubicle was just checked, but I'm so not sure that's correct as there was no hand towel and only one almost finished toilet paper roll. Someone nearby kindly found some hand towel for me. Also downstairs seems to be a cosy pedicure treatment area. The payment at reception went smoothly, and the staff there were friendly, helpful and polite. Other people came in and stood far too close to me while I shared personal information with the receptionist, which seemed a little rude of them. It would be nice if they were asked to step aside. I resolved the matter by writing the info for the receptionist. There is a café/ bar style area in the salon which I didn't use but it looked really nice. The prices are fair for the area ans nobody tried to "pressure-sell" me anything. The next day my hairstyle still held. A great experience. Definitely better hairdresser than most...

I had a cut with Conor just over 2 weeks ago; I wanted to wait a while before writing a review to see how my hair would ‘behave’ after the cut. I have had a bob-length hair since last summer but no one has been able to cut it to accommodate my specific hair type (thick-ish, prone to wave and puffiness, reacting to humidity). In the past I often ended up with a triangle looking hair, unless I did a lot of heat styling. I have been following Hersheson’s instagram and seen Conor do a couple of cuts on hair that seemed similar to mine and decided to give it a try.
Conor put me at ease from the beginning, I could tell he really listened and understood my hair type, then talked me through the process. I liked the cut as soon as I saw the final result but you never really know until a few days later, after you have washed your hair. Well, over 2 weeks later, I can safely say that Conor did a great job. I have a long bob with a lot of softness and subtle wave to it that looks great both air-dried and with some hot tool styling. It looks like it will grow into a soft lob length nicely while looking intentional. I will definitely go back to refresh the cut in the late autumn. It is not a cheap place but my hair is so low maintenance now that it is worth it for me.
The salon itself is beautifully designed and welcoming.
I have removed half a star from the overall salon rating as having to pay for a drink (water in my case) came as a bit of a surprise, used to being offered free tea, coffee and even wine in some other salons I have been to...
Read moreGreat hairdressers - awful attitude. I was trying to grow my hair and wanted to maintain my fringe in the process and therefore periodically paid for a fringe trim at Hereshons Harvey Nics to freshen up my hair (£10 each time). First time I went the receptionist was sullen/sulky/rude and argumentative when the online booking system had booked me in with the wrong staff member which very nearly put me off going back but I continued to book in when needed as the salon is 5 mins from my work and the stylists clearly know what they’re doing. However the last time I visited, I was told that from now on they won’t be accepting fringe trim bookings unless you’re an ongoing client. If this service was free I would completely understand this but given that I’m willing to pay I really can’t see how they can justify it. It’s not as if the stylists are rushed off they’re feet as every time I book on the day or day before there’s tonnes of time slots. This point aside, I wouldn’t have been frustrated if this fact hadn’t been delivered in such a demeaning, rude way. You definitely get a sense from the staff in this salon that they think they’re a cut above the rest (genuinely no pun intended ha). This might be true in terms of the skill of the hairdressers, but both the receptionists and the stylists are still representing a business which should be based on good standards of customer care and decent service. I was saving up to book in for a restyle at Hereshons but after this experience I will 100% not be stepping into this...
