Absolutely loved my hair cut with Nelson (went from very long to very short). He was so meticulous and creative, you could tell it was like creating art work for him. However, the salon itself was such a disappointment. The decor is shabby and tired. The seating area is rather unimpressive with just two seats for people waiting. The toilet is messy and really tiny, I'm quite petite and I could barely squeeze in there. The girl who washed my hair was uninterested, she made no effort to talk, not even a hello. She didn't once ask me what the temperature of the water was like, she didn't bother with a head massage (I could see another client getting one) and she didn't even wrap the towel around me properly, I had to do it myself. Drinks were charged for including water, teas and coffees and they weren't cheap (Ā£4 on average). My local salon, which charges a third of what I paid here, offers free drinks and a head massage as well as engaging conversation. Neville's salon charges premium prices but the experience definitely wasn't premium. Going to the hairdresser should be a fun and relaxing experience rather than awkward and annoying. I think they seriously need to work on their customer service. Nelson however was brilliant. So if you can tolerate the poor service then I'd highly...
Read moreIve paid £380 for a simple trim and a blow dry. It was supposed to be a hot scissors trim but first of all the scissors didn't work, the hairdresser was inexperienced to even switch them on, she needed help. They didn't get hot and when a young man was asked to help her with the scissors he has whispered to her that they don't work properly. Upon trimming the hair the scissors were catching on the hair and not going smoothly at all. I have had hot scissors many times before in Russia and it's not how it feels. At the end of my appointment when my hair was blow dried it was trimmed again with normal scissors ........ The whole point of hot scissors is to seal the ends, thats what I paid for and didn't receive. The blow dry was good. I forgot to mention that upon entering the salon I had to wait NOT EXAGGERATING 15 minutes because the receptionist was on the phone. A queue of 3 people has formed and a man who lost his patience had to intervene with the receptionist who was oblivious to the people waiting. I also wasn't given any water when I've asked for it ( the hairdresser forgot to give it to me) This is far, FAR away from a good experience, never mind a luxury one. I will be claiming...
