A dream of a yarn shop - a mecca for crafters. The team are helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.
There is yarn on sale at every price point, eg from CaMaRose HVERDAGSULD to Handmaiden Casbah and beyond.
I particularly love the Jamieson's Spindrift corner upstairs - a truly cathartic experience, being able to see and handle these gorgeous, colourful little balls of yarn pleasure prior to purchase. Thank you for having such a large selection. Loop stock my favourite Addi Colibri needles as well as many other lovely crafting accessories.
We are lucky to have so many lovely LYSs in London - Loop has to be one of the most aspirational, inspiring and memorable yarn stores I have ever visited.
In recent years, it's been sad to see that staff appear a bit twitchy, following certain customers around the store - maybe there has been shoplifting in recent years. Finding more than one sales assistant suddenly at my shoulder, not asking if I need help but just hovering, has encouraged me to shop at other stores where there is less strange behaviour, perhaps where there is less suspicion of customers of colour. It is a shame because I have accrued quite a few loyalty points over the years. Not sure if I will feel comfortable enough to hit the achievement...
Read moreMy favorite yarn shop in London. I stop in several times a year when Iâm in London and have also ordered online for shipment to me in the states. Shipping has always been very quick and well-packaged. Iâve also ordered online for âclick and collectâ. When I stop in the store my items are always quickly retrieved and usually âfindâ something on the shelf that also needs to leave with themđ
The yarn selection includes a great selection of some of the best yarns from North America. I donât buy these because I can pick them up when Iâm back in the states but itâs nice to see such a nice selection available for U.K. knitters. They have a wonderful selection of UK and European yarns and are constantly adding to the choices. Some of the yarns have bespoke colors exclusive to Loop.
There are also a number of patterns available that were designed for Loop. Donât miss the haberdashery items - great project bags and knickknacks on the first floor. I donât want to forget to compliment the owner and staff - very pleasant and knowledgeable. They have the perfect blend of checking to see if you need help and leaving you alone to browse. I also love their loyalty program. This is a âdonât missâ shop if...
Read moreNormally I am in favour of supporting local yarn shops and strictly against just looking for inspiration and buying online. But after the way I was treated here, I made an exception. And here's why.
I visit Loop every time I'm in London. The yarns are beautiful, exclusive and inspiring. The shop is tiny and often crowded. The staff upstairs were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by the unfriendly attitude of the cashier. I was sent back and forth to look for a skein of yarn that was right in front of her without her apologising. When I asked if two skeins could be wound (I'm travelling and needed both), she flatly refused, even when I offered to come back hours later or the next day. I had ÂŁ250 worth of yarn in my hand, but I just don't have the heart to give that money to someone who treats me so rudely. Arrogance is one thing - but not knowing that the same yarn is cheaper online and the service is better? That's just embarrassing.đ Now I'm looking forward to returning home, where a parcel of gorgeous yarn (and without that attitude) will be waiting for me. Thank you, Loop London, for the...
