The moment I walked into the restaurant, I was greeted with warm smiles and an inviting atmosphere. The decor had a touch of Austrian flair, with wooden accents and traditional artwork adorning the walls.

The menu was extensive and featured a variety of Austrian dishes, but I had my heart set on the schnitzel. When my order arrived, I was immediately impressed with the presentation. The schnitzel was crispy and golden brown on the outside, while the inside was tender and flavorful. It was accompanied by a generous serving of potato and lingonberry jam, which added a perfect balance of sweetness to the dish.

The service was exceptional throughout my dining experience. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and always had a smile on their faces. I appreciated the attention to detail that they demonstrated, from recommending wine pairings to checking in on the quality of the food. In addition to the great food and service, I also appreciated the accommodating nature of the staff. Despite arriving near closing time, they still warmly welcomed us and offered us a seat and food. It was clear that they valued their customers and were willing to go above and beyond to ensure a positive dining experience. This level of hospitality is hard to come by and it made our visit all the more memorable. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to try delicious Austrian cuisine. The schnitzel was certainly a standout dish, but I have no doubt that everything on the menu is equally impressive. I look forward to returning...

UPDATE.... 24/8/24 Have been several times over the last year but as we sit here once again, having completely over indulged in our usual 'gut schmeckendes Essen' followed of course by Sachertorte. I just had to say, it's great to see how busy it is here even in the pouring rain. Consistently good, consistently a great treat. The staff as always, are pleasant, helpful and courteous. It's good to be back. . . Once again I can't help but comment on Kipferl. Sadly we had not been able to visit over the last couple of months. We are not local but we made the journey especially on 24/8/22, for lunch. Is there a reason for returning? Definitely, for the BEST, authentic Austrian food that we know of and I say this with my partner being Austrian. She said that the Wiener Schnitzel was amazing but no matter what we have as our main course, there is only one thing we always have when we visit and that is a slice of Sachertorte. It is the best and probably the only place, outside of the Hotel Sacher, in either Vienna or Salzburg, that truly knows how to make it authentic. Well done Kipferl! A great team of staff who are always helpful and friendly. As regular customers we are already looking forward to our next visit. . . 16/6/22 Have eaten lunch here several times and it has always been excellent. Just finished another and our only complaint was, we wish we could start over! Everything is authentically Austrian as confirmed by my Austrian partner. We have promised ourselves a return visit one evening. She is already...

I had the pleasure of dining at Kipferl Restaurant in Islington, and I must say, it is truly the best Austrian restaurant in London. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance immediately transports you to Austria. The decor, the atmosphere, and most importantly, the flavors, all exude an authentic Austrian charm.

Kipferl is perfect for various occasions, whether you're looking to enjoy a delightful afternoon coffee, indulge in a delicious lunch, or have a relaxed business dinner. Their menu boasts Austrian classics such as Schnitzel, Zwiebelrostbraten, and the famous Sachertorte. Each dish is crafted with care, capturing the essence of Austrian cuisine.

To complement the fantastic food, Kipferl offers an impressive selection of Austrian beverages. Whether you prefer a crisp Veltliner wine, a refreshing Ottakringer beer, or the iconic herbal soda Almdudler, they have it all to enhance your dining experience.

If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend securing the window bench table. It's a lovely spot for three, allowing you to enjoy your meal while soaking in the pleasant surroundings and perhaps even catching a glimpse of the bustling streets of Islington.

In conclusion, Kipferl Restaurant in Islington is a gem for those seeking an authentic Austrian culinary experience. The charming atmosphere, delectable food, and wide range of traditional Austrian beverages make it a top choice. So, whether you're a fan of Austrian cuisine or simply looking to embark on a gastronomic adventure, Kipferl is the...

We visited Kipferl a few weeks ago to fulfil my friend’s wish for an authentic Wiener Schnitzel and a proper slice of Eszterházy cake. As Hungarians from near the Austrian border, the menu felt like a nostalgic trip back to our childhood kitchens. The Wiener Schnitzel did not disappoint – perfectly cooked and served with a potato salad that hit all the right notes. The Eszterházy cake was a standout – beautifully made and truly reminiscent of homemade versions, which are rare to find done well. The overall selection of traditional Austrian dishes was impressive. Staff were friendly and welcoming – the lady who served us was particularly attentive, and the Hungarian waiter was a delight: talkative and kind. While the prices are on the higher side, this is central London, and the quality of food certainly justifies it. The only downside was the outdoor seating – quite cramped and the furniture felt a bit flimsy. Understandably, space is limited, but sturdier and more comfortable seating would really elevate the experience. Overall, we were very satisfied and would happily return for another taste of home.

🌱 Kipferl is an Austrian restaurant located in Camden Passage in Angel. There is indoor and outdoor seating and when I visited (weekday evening) it was fairly calm with plenty of available tables. Good atmosphere, nice staff, and fast service. Our group did not feel rushed by the staff and we could have long uninterrupted conversations. As an Austrian (&vegetarian) I was very excited and had a hard time choosing a dish. 😁 I ordered Spinatknödel. It looked very promising but lacked salt and hence flavour in my opinion. It got better after adding salt but I wouldn't necessarily order it again. It was served with some melted butter and salad. I would prefer seeing Knödel with a sauce (e.g. mushroom sauce) on the menu, since eating Knödel by themselves feels a little dry. I ordered one can of Almdudler (which is a popular Austrian soft drink) and one main and ended up paying £24. While the portion sizes were good, the prices are towards the higher end. I don't think I'd become a regular here but I might give it another try and taste some other mains or their cakes & pastries.
