I discovered this salon a month ago as it's near my office and has great reviews. I had a consultation and discussed the hair colour I want to achieve in time for my imminent wedding. We agreed with David that he would only manage to have time for the T-section for my first visit, but we booked a 2nd appointment to do a full head of highlights in time for the wedding, and booked this appt for Tue 19th Sep at 15:30. (I leave the UK for my wedding on the 27th Sep). This salon closes at 8pm which is another reason I chose it as I have a very busy job and need to try and find late appts wherever possible. David and the team explained that I would need 4.5 hours for this appt and therefore would have to come at 15:30. Sadly, I got stuck on an important work call that overran slightly. Whilst on the call, I was frantically trying to ring the salon but was on hold for a long while. I remembered I also had their whatsapp details so I messaged them at 15:35 apologising and saying I'd be slightly late. They then called me at 15:44 to check where I was and I advised I was 10 mins away, and the lady on the call told me that was fine. When I got to the salon, David was at reception and he told me there was no time as I was 25 mins late and he couldn't do my hair. I tried to discuss this with him but he told me to wait, he got another colleague to come talk to me, and then he took another client in so he could start her hair?? This other colleague, perhaps a manager, was very friendly and tried to offer me another appt on another day at their Notting Hill salon. But as I am leaving in ONE WEEK for my wedding, finding any free time other than what's already been allocated is impossible. He offered me a Sunday full day appt but I have a list of at least 4 things I need to do on Sunday for the wedding. What really really upset me is David. He knows I'm getting married in 10 days. I saw no effort from him whatsoever to assist. He could have even proposed we skip the blowdry at the end for example. I was not 1 hour late, I was 25 mins late. And he told me he wouldn't do it and then walked off. I then had to go off and frantically find another hairdresser, do a patch test, and find availability at the last minute to get my hair done in time for my wedding. Thankfully, I found a great salon nearby who will see me on Friday evening. Sadly, despite how happy I was with my first visit to this salon, this experience has a left a very very bad taste. I do completely appreciate the need to make every effort to be on time for appointments, but I had hoped that my calls/whatsapps and bad luck with my work call slightly over-running would have been acceptable. More specifically due to the fact that I'm getting married!!! And I would have preferred to have avoided added stress at the last minute. I would have left one star but given my first visit was good, I have left 3. Generally an extremely disappointing service. Note: As per my whatsapp this morning, can the salon please confirm that my deposit has been...
Read moreI’ve called a few times to book in at Fitzrovia but had not been able to get through to the salon (I dialled 6 times thinking I was in a cue). When I did get through front of house behaviour was strange - I’ve been hung up on, put on hold with no one coming back to the phone and then told I have no notes on the system capturing my previous patch test or consultation notes. Eventually I felt like they were trying to get rid of me (sending me to nottinghill)
I called Notting Hill who also couldn’t find patch test notes for me. They did a bit of investigating and explained that it may be because I’ve been banned at Fitzrovia (front of house at Notting Hill were lovely and polite). This was news to me and perplexing as I’ve only had my hair coloured with them once before years ago (a good experience with someone who has now left the team) and (as I travel often for long periods) I’ve only had couple of consultations since then - one with Notting Hill branch (liv who was lovely) and one was f2f in Fitzrovia which was a little awkward as she was somewhat dismissive of my preferences but the exchange was nonetheless polite
Frankly, this is horrifying behaviour. If this ban was intentional then there is no clear reason. If it is not intentional then I have been subjected to rude behaviour...
Read moreHaving experienced several hair miracles at Samantha Cusick in Notting Hill, I recently visited the new salon in Fitzrovia for the first time and the word amazing doesn't even do it justice. Firstly its really easy to get to and the salon itself is lovely, fresh, modern, comfy and everything flows really well. But let me tell you about my hair. Samantha did my colour and I am obsessed with it. It is flawless and after I left the salon I had two random people stop and ask me about my hair. I genuinely don't know what kind of magic she weaves as it all seems so effortless watching her but it suits my colouring perfectly and at the same time looks fresh and kind of surprising. Next up I had the delightful Alex for a cut and blow-dry and he is a hair genius. I'm pretty sure he's going to get booked up fast so get in while you can. It's 3 days since he did my hair and it still looks fab- the cut and finish was flawless. In my opinion this is where you will get the best cut, blow-dry and...
