My initial review, published around 2018, rated Flying Tiger as flawless by every measure... "Without a doubt one of my favourite stores, of any sort, worldwide. Unparalleled collection, great designs and unbeatable prices. Their stock varies depending on season and upcoming holidays which does affect its appeal but leaving empty handed is not an option." Where do you go from there? There was no room for improvement. The only way was down and that's exactly where we find Flying Tiger in 2022. It's still full of handy things at good prices but they're mostly exactly the same handy things that they stocked 4 years ago. Except, every year, the range will be repainted in a new pallette of ugly pastel colours. There's some limited product innovation now and again but it can be hard to tell when it's all doused in either cutesy baby pink or almost neon blue. I still go into the stores quite frequently but I think I buy something on every 4th or 5th visit. Flying Tiger has lost its utility and less-is-more sense of style. I think the exit of Dutch competitor HEMA from the UK market has left Flying Tiger with a "why bother making an effort?" mentality. It's never too late though....

Well, i was just looking through all of the rows slowly as i usually do and the security guard would not take his eyes off of me!!
I don’t know if it was me looking at stuff and picking things up offended him, but he literally ‘circled’ the store and always looked in my direction, which made me really uncomfortable. I don’t know why he had to do all that. Certainly the worst location of flying tiger for older teens, young adults and POC.
The rest of the workers were lovely and chill. They did their job efficiently and didn’t mind if i picked things up. Maybe because THAT’S HOW THE STORE...

Both gave us looks as we walked directly to the checkout cashier (instead of all the way around the store), which is the only place they store zipper bags. The girl at the cashier gave us a lot of attitude (both days at varying degrees) and on the first day the one girl told us that we “could’ve just bought it at Primark” when I said “who would have thought DK would save the day, we have been looking everywhere for these!” (Including Primark who only had ones without a zipper).. If it was my store, I would not be pleased to have employees giving people such looks and attitudes, telling customers to go to other stores and barely looking...
