This market is an amazing place, providing top-class foods and a wonderful space to while away an hour or two. My experience today was however, far from pleasant. The open-plan seating arrangement is not as open as it seems. My friend & I unwittingly sat in an area reserved for customers of one particular stall. There is no signage nor demarcation to indicate this. The owner of this stall set upon us, to oust us with such fervour that I dropped the remainder of my meal before finding alternative seating. His enthusiasm to do so only served to maximise his audience potential and to intensify our embarrassment. I no longer feel secure dining in this market unless seating is indicated to me by my chosen vendor. My advice to this stall owner is this: It is always best to assume the better of others, that their actions are as a result of ignorance and innocence. A simple discrete, "Are you aware...." would have resulted in our apology for inconvenience caused and a swift move elsewhere. Something for everyone here. At least a dozen different kinds of food, with many vegan options. New and vintage clothes, shoes, baked goods, bulk dried foods (BYOC), jewelry, new age shop, vinyl records, pastries, cakes, Asian food, Indian food, burgers, BBQ, Greek food, fresh vegetables, hair salons, massage, nail salon, and other less easily labeled shops. People of every nationality coming and going in all kinds of clothes, and a babble of different languages. We had vegan noodles from a shop next door to the stall selling incense and crystals and it was very good. The proprietor was genuinely friendly, as was the lady at the "new age" shop. We've been to the market several times, and each time we see something new. It's about as close to a street bazaar as I've ever seen, with nooks and bends and twists, but it's indoors, with industrial plastic curtains over the main entrances.
