West End on the Thames — Local services in London

Excellent experience, great time, fab food, would highly recommend!

We booked a river cruise with West End on the Thames for our 10 year company anniversary, with a group size of 50 people and attended at the end of June; luckily the warm weather also added to the overall experience.

From the initial videocall with our organiser Eliza and her team, the whole arrangement of the event went very smoothly from food selection, add on items such as karaoke and even crucial elements like ensuring allergy risks were removed completely from the boat, were all taken care of with super speedy action and communication via emails. All of this was planned with Eliza and the team over approximately 2-3 months to make sure everything went perfectly.

When the big day did arrive, there was a slight bit of panic as a few of the group were not present right on 18:00 which was departure time and as a result, were left on the dock confused and waiting for the boat to return for them. I would highly recommend making sure that you are present 15 minutes before departure, as there is zero room for delay.

However once we dramatically managed to get everyone on the boat and set off on the official voyage, it was great! We didn’t go for a drinks package, but rather had the company card behind the bar which I felt was much better, given we didn’t have to limit people in what they ordered.

There was a large selection of BBQ food and I think that everyone was so focused on having fun chatting and mingling, that they actually forgot to eat! So apologies for the waste! No complaints were heard however and those who did go down to the lower deck, ended up going back for more.

In terms of vibe, decorations were subtle and pleasant. DJ had a good set and was friendly when assisting with the karaoke; although I think a few more club classic/party tunes would have helped to encourage the dodgy dance moves come out, given there was not much going on in that area. Shout out to the bar staff as well who were chatty, very friendly and speedy in service.

There are 3 deck levels to go between and everyone was moving around freely, spread out with loads of room. Toilets were a little bit smaller than expected, but manageable and most importantly clean.

Overall, I would highly recommend booking a river cruise with West End on the Thames. I do feel it suits the corporate sector well and encourages mingling without compromising personal space.

I was very impressed with not only the main experience and obvious fact of being on a boat, but considering out of 50 very different people, no one could fault anything from the food, to the music or the planning and how accommodating the team were; especially from my perspective with the last minute details and amendments. If anything, the 4 hours were over way too quickly and I feel another couple extra hours would have been perfect.

Eliza and Ellie were always on hand with any changes (even during an unpredicted circumstance within London) to provide advice and insight to ensure the most magical time on the water. Our team had travelled to the UK from all over the world and could never have seen London in such a wonderful way. We were truly blown away by the tour itself, and the beautiful details onboard. Welcome drinks reception, personalized music playlist and tabletop/ garden games to name a few. The varied vegetarian food options were also fantastic! We were absolutely blown away by the professional photographer helping capture moments meaning we could enjoy the views and team connect. The whole team felt this was a beautiful touch and we couldn't be more pleased with the pictures. Thank you for allowing us to see London in the most amazing way, to your staff for their incredible service onboard during the event, to the captain for his landmark and area information via speaker, to the photographer again for his efforts capturing the team essence and advising of upcoming landmarks for picture ops! Wonderful! And of course, to you all; the events team- for your professional partnership and wonderful organization. I have ensured to recommend this amazing activity throughout our organization.
