I have been going here for over 2 months, Firstly the service is as fast as my 90 year old grandma doing cart wheels up the stairs backwards which just in case you don't know her is shockingly slow. Every time I have been in here a minimum of ten minute wait there is only ever one person serving at any given time. Secondly I went in there three weeks ago and nobody else was in so I thought this would be a good time to order, however two people then came in and although I ordered first was made to wait 15 minutes until the other people who came in and ordered after me to be served there coffee, while i clearly must not have a look on my face of being busy was left to wait. Thirdly my partner is lacto intolerant. So every time I order it a 'OAT' Milk latte. This has been wrong 3 separate times and only when I get back does my partner realise. The problem is they are to busy trying to up sell you a croissant, brownie or a large coffee for an extra 30p rather than listen to what you are ordering. 3 separate time and this is no exaggeration. Yesterday my partner decided to go in there as I have refused to go back and she wanted to ensure they got it right. She orders 'one flat white and one oat milk latte' (the same order every single day). When it came to payment it came to £5.50. My partner realised this is not right as we are use to paying £6 total. To her horror she decided to lean over and watch the lady pull in fresh dairy milk. My partner then said 'excuse me is that with oat milk' to which the woman again replied 'ooo sorry I didn't hear you say oat milk' even though this is the same order made day in day out. My partner is then told this is an extra 50p and unfortunately she now cannot pay card as the minimum card charge is £1. My partner who has already paid for their mistake said I do not have any cash on me (Covid, Pandemic etc advises not to carry cash at this current time FYI) to which the lady replied 'Well can we charge you £1 and then next time you come in we will deduct it' She replied with a simple 'No' Imagine hearing caffe nero, starbucks or even your local a burger van saying that!
So today new day new start this time my turn to go in as my partner was appalled by yesterdays service. So I go in 'One flat one and one oat milk latte' Do you want a brownie 'NO' do you want a croissant 'NOOOO' 'Do you want to make the latte large for a extra 30p?' 'NOOOOOOOOOO'
And guess what full fat milk is being poured into the latte! I literally told the lady this is the 3rd time you keep giving my partner milk which she is allergic to. One shrug of the shoulders later it was very obvious that the word health and safety is just not part of their vocabulary. If you want are interesting in trying to kill your partner or friend or if you want to waste 15 minutes of your life and leave a shop with a wrong order even though you have been paying for another then I cannot recommend this place higher enough 5 out of 5.
This is a café that should stick to selling waterproof tea bags. I also do not write bad reviews but due to the fact that milk allergies are very high in children i feel it is necessary that the management see this or put a stop to avoid any future child experiencing what we experience daily. allergic reactions are not nice, in fact very scary. However if you want to play with fire then don't expect to not get burnt.
Avoid this place like Covid19, stay at home, pour yourself your own oat milk coffee and most...
Read morePlace looked cleaned and nice decor wasn’t so busy, however staff seem pretty rushed off their feet making drinks. I’m not sure if that’s for takeaway like Uber eats because there wasn’t many people there. The staff are nice and pleasant and there is seating outside but we sat inside as it was cooler on this hot day. I was disappointed that my dish was not presented well, see picture. Also was missing rocket. The hollandaise sauce was too thick. My poached eggs for some odd reason were like boiled eggs when I cut into them. And the bread (muffin) a bit dry. My daughters dish was very disappointing whilst it was presented well the waffles were not home made or fresh, they seem shop bought and quite hard/dry in texture. I think it has the potential to be a great local place. But if I’m paying £10.50 per dish I expect them to compete with the offerings of what available locally in isle of dogs and Canary Wharf. I hope this was just a one off as I see many positive reviews and the review is for feed back purpose. 7/10/22 edit P.s. Also there was meant to be rocket/salad in the eggs Benedict… not sure why it was missing. I’m also not satisfied with poor response, how about give us a chance to make it better come back and try us again on the house! Sorry but I don’t want to risk paying for...
Read moreUnfortunately, my recent visit to the neighborhood cafe was underwhelming and frustrating. Despite ordering a simple large chai latte to-go, my order was delayed significantly, and several customers who ordered after me were served first. The staff initially presented me with an iced latte I hadn’t ordered, and even when I pointed out the mistake, they were unfriendly and tried to accuse me of ordering it. They never apologized for the mix-up. After correcting the initial mistake, they handed me a small oat chai latte, which was still not what I ordered. When they attempted to rectify the situation again, they offered the incorrect drink for free—a gesture that felt almost insulting, as if to question my dissatisfaction rather than a genuine apology. I politely declined the wrong drink. To add to the frustration, I was overcharged, and correcting this only resulted in a minimal refund of fifty cents. In total, I wasted 25 minutes on a Sunday morning for a simple order (this happened between 10:30-11:00). The cafe may only be popular due to its lack of competition in the area, but I’d recommend walking a bit further to a different cafe to avoid a similarly disappointing and...
