The Real Escape — Local services in Portsmouth

This was my first escape room with my friends and I can't have asked for a better experience. The room we escaped (Dr Rydles memories) was challenging but still aproachable for us newtimers. The room had interesting puzzles that were varied in how you aproach them (wish I could say more about the puzzles but I would spoil them!). The room was also really well decorated giving a unique and mysterious vibe that imersed you into the puzzles.

The game master (for us it was PJ) was really friendly and gave a great introduction to the experience. During the escape room they gave the perfect amount of hints, only every chiming in through the hint screen when we had missed something small/obscure that put us on the right track.

Overall a great escape room I would reccomend...

We visited the Real Escape for a team building event. They were super accommodating when we had to move our booking last minute due to sickness and really helpful with coordinating start times, so we could make it a real race to the finish! On the day we were greeted by Heather and Iris, our guides, who were lovely and welcoming. After some briefings, we were invited into our respective rooms. My team had The Chamber of the deep, a nautical themed room and our other team had The Western Job. It really was good fun, my team had a brilliant time, and we managed to escape by the skin of our teeth! I've never done an escape room before but I'm genuinely looking forward to doing...

We were a group of 6 and really enjoyed our time at The Real Escape. We did 'Dr Ryddles Memories', which was challenging and all the group contributed. We just managed to Escape in time! The service we received was excellent from the manager whose name I can't remember who responded promptly to my voicemail. She arranged a last minute booking and payment over the phone. Iris met us at the venue and was extremely attentive. She explained everything clearly at the beginning and was there when we finished. We treated us like we were her only clients.
