Visited sip n solve on Saturday evening. Firstly there was no food available and was told âdo you want me to burn the place down?, weâre short staffedâ which I found was an unnecessary and rude response by the bald guy with glasses. Waited over an hour for someone to come over and get us set up on the puzzles. Puzzles were okay, though one wasnât set up properly and we had seen the end before solving anything. We were given a torch on arrival to read the menus due to the darkness of the place. We took the torch with us to use throughout solving the puzzles. We were about to go upstairs to the ghost train, to which the same guy spotted the torch we were using and told us âwhere did you get that? Thatâs NOT yoursâ and snatched it back, even though we were using it as intended, like another member of staff told us to do. We headed up to the ghost train which was fun, scary but difficult to solve. Bald guy came up again after 30 mins and said âare you guys still solving this? you lot are rubbishâ and went back downstairs. This guy completely ruined our experience and we will not be returning. Cocktails tasted very bitter and had a awful aftertaste for ÂŁ10. 1 drink each for me and my partner and paying ÂŁ13 each for the puzzles came to just short of ÂŁ50, not worth it...
Read moreI was organising a team building event for 24 people and from all of the Escape Rooms in Portsmouth, Other World Escapes were able to accommodate all of us. From the initial enquiry, options were discussed with full costs and provided in a timely manner. Gareth was extremely friendly, helpful and open to our questions. We completed the games and were taken next door to Sip & Solve. We were able to open a tab, so that when the rooms were finished, people could sit down near the bar, order a drink and wait for the rest of the escapees. They organised tea/coffee and scones (which were fresh and absolutely delicious) for us as an afternoon tea before we moved back downstairs for the puzzle pods. We broke up again into small teams, picked a pod and were introduced to the games' story. These were just as fun as the rooms, but only took 15mins to complete. They were so cleverly designed, very creative. I definitely recommend Sip & Solve. It was a lovely bar, felt very cosy, all of the staff were...
Read moreSuch a fun place and affordable too when you go with a group!! We had such a blast. All the puzzles were so creative but also challenging. We loved how everything had a concept and theme. Theyâre open till late (10PM), which is nice since thereâs never really any activity that is open at night in Portsmouth. It was great that there was food and drinks too, something rare in an escape room. We really enjoyed the themed drinks that are inspired by each puzzle pod- apparently itâs their original creation too! Super handy that thereâs drink/phone holders around too. But our favourite part must have been the staff. The person who tended to us, Jack, was an absolute pleasure. He made sure to give us the best experience, always looking out if we needed clues, and his passion and enthusiasm just made everything so much more exciting. Many thanks for...
