Crumbl — Restaurant in Abilene

The only reason they are given one star is so I can write my experience. I have been a weekly customer since they opened and lately the service is getting worse. Today my daughter placed an order on their app for a curbside pick up but when she got there no one came. She went inside to pick it up and they stated they didn’t have an order. She showed them where the payment came from her account and then they told her there must be a technical problem with the app and she needed to call them. The girl picked up the phone and acted as if she was calling them but then told my daughter no one answered. They didn’t give her the order she placed or her money back. They told me on the phone they gave her a number to call but when I arrived at the store they said there is no number to call… you have to speak with a live chat. During this process they told me several different stories but once all was done we didn’t receive the order placed or a refund. Very 'franchised' sort of feelings.

I wasn't sure what to expect, perhaps it was me. Don't get me wrong, the cookies were good, loved the waffle cookie flavor (though it was misshapen) and the chocolate covered strawberry one was good too. The cookies are great for an indulgent treat.

As for service and and atmosphere- branding was cute, store looked clean but there was little to no involvement or interaction with staff. Perhaps I am too used to home/other bakeries - you go in, there is a kiosk, if you don't wish to use it they can help you order if you ask or people order ahead. Then you just stand there and wait for your name. They show you the cookies and if they are right off ya go. Just seemed very... sterile. Odd for there being like 5 girls working whom were in very clear view and being observed by all...

Crumbl Cookies are always a treat! They have six different cookies to choose from each week. They are very careful to get your order correct and they open the box and confirm it with you before you leave. We tried the Old Fashioned Donut and the Cornbread Cookie this time and they weren't our favorites. I wish they'd always have an iced sugar cookie available, but I know it is fun to have variety. The employees are all very friendly and helpful, and it's very clean. The cookies are big and we almost always split one because they're so rich.

Update, July 2024: The Blueberry Pancake cookie is the best cookie I have ever tasted in my whole life and it is my new favorite!
