Very nice outing. The Akron station was clean and well maintained. Lots of parking for vehicles and bikes. One line station attendant. There are no restrooms for the public. The attendant suggested walking a couple blocks to a hotel. When he gets olderwill come to realize what an insult that is to seniors. Trains ran on time and on schedule. We selected seats in the dome car. But the view would have been the same from the coaches. Each car had a staff member who provided a running commentary. Some are better than others. Cars were clean but well worn. The "Dining Car" had drinks and snacks that weren't too outrageous in price. A gift shop is in the dining car. The ride itself was smooth. We shared a table and really enjoyed chatting with folks. The dome car is significantly more narrow than standard coaches. The train doesn't turn around, as such. It would be like a car doing one leg in "Drive" and the return in "reverse." You never get to see the opposite side. The parking is lush and green but not really scenic, as such. It's probably spectacular in fall. In June it got boring. The price is reasonable. No one ever looked at our ticket. The conductor does a head count of people getting on and off. I can see doing a trip in the fall. Midpoint is a town called Penninsula. I can see getting off there for a meal/snack and then getting back on for the return. That would break up the trip a bit. I would give the CVSR a solid plus rating. We had a very nice day, met some very nice people and saw some...

Explore the backwoods of the Cuyahoga National park as you travel in a dated train. You can start your journey at either Akron or Peninsula station and get off wherever you please. Your paid ticket will hold your seat for the train run following yours but that is all.

Each car is uniquely themed. There is only one bathroom per car and the aisles are tight. N Akron station only has port a Jon’s. The cafe car sits toward the back of the train. You can buy popcorn, snacks, drinks and buy souvenirs there.

Sat in a dome car. It was in a/c comfort with music piped in throughout our trip. We had a train guide and a park ranger point out some of the sites along the way and the history behind them. Check out the Indian statue and dog park. Also got to see indigo lake, beaver marsh landing, an above ground sewer line, and the rapids of Cuyahoga river.

Note the train does not turn around. Instead there are engines on both sides so you see the same thing which ever direction you go.

Staff made us feel very welcome and was attentive to our needs. Recommend the dome car if you want to do a fall foliage trip since you literally are right next to the trees.

The seats face each other booth style. Really enjoyed my visit here. Round trip took...

Crazy. I spent $200 on tickets for my children and myself and then had the unfortunate experience of testing positive for Covid. They told me I could receive a refund..then quickly said I couldn't..then said I had to reschedule. I had absolutely no problem rescheduling for any day with zero restrictions and then they tell me they don't have anything open (not sure why they even offered). I asked if I could gift my tickets to a family member..they said I could or I could get a gift card to use a different time. Obviously $200 worth of train rides isn't very enticing?? I attempted to give my tickets away but no one was available so I emailed the customer service and let them know that I couldn't find anyone and that I was going to have to accept a gift card. They never responded, leaving me in total limbo about what was happening. Who has $200 to just waste?????????? The courteous thing to do is at least respond since you already took my money? My sister had bought the seats next to us and went and notified me that while the company didn't have the time to update me about my situation..they did find the time to resell my tickets 😅 priorities, ammirite??? They took my money...just nasty business...
