Target Optical — Local services in Alameda

A friend recommended Target Optical in Alameda several years back after she had a great experience with their staff, and our whole family has been going there ever since. Dr. Votran and the other optometrists are great and really patient with both the children and elderly members of our family.

The best part of the whole operation, though, is Studio at the front desk. Studio is the most upbeat, positive, joyful, and wonderful person on earth, and she makes a mundane appointment something to look forward to. She remembers all of us and our names and genuinely cares about our family, even asking after the others when one of us comes in. Studio is an absolute style icon to my teenager, too, and anytime we happen to be shopping at Target we always cruise by to say hi to her. We joke about starting a Facebook fanpage for Studio because my kid would be the president, secretary, and treasurer.

If you go to Target in Alameda for your optical needs, you'll stay for Studio's awesome...

Went i for an eye exam to in search for some new glasses too. Eye exam it self was good the Optometrist was very nice and informative how ever Phil the customer rep at the front there was very rude.. i was looking at glasses and i happened to grab some Coach ones and he literally told me those were really expensive and gave me price examples as if I couldn't afford them... i am obviously aware of the price and if I couldn't afford them I wouldn't be trying them on... he also kept giving small remarks through out and made it clear to me more than once that I could only try 6 at a time which i had no problem with but he was visibly getting upset that i kept looking and trying on (all within the 6 at a time limit) oh and did I mention he told my husband he could try 12 at a time.... He made the whole experience very uncomfortable that i told me husband I wanted to leave and just go elsewhere to buy our lens & frames... wont be coming to this...

Dr. Juang is the best optometrist. She’s the only doctor I will get my prescription from. If I ever leave the area, I will travel just to make sure she takes care of my eyes.

Dr. Juang is a treasure. She is thorough and detailed. She is meticulous with her measurements and is an excellent human. She has a wonderful bedside manner. She made my 8 yr old nephew very comfortable during his eye exam. She spent extra time answering his questions. I credit her with impressing on him the importance in wearing his glasses daily.

Dr. Juang also saved my husband’s vision. He had severe retinal detachments needing buckle surgery in both eyes and she caught both issues. He lacked any symptoms and wouldn’t have had it checked out without Dr. Juang’s intervention.

I will forever be her patient. Wherever she goes, I’ll follow. That’s just how...
