The staff are is very friendly and have Smiles with their customer service! Most of the time during the day the older staff works the front selling in collecting tickets and they are great! They are very greetable and always have the same attitude which is always great when I come and see a movie all the time so I love consistency in customerservice I really really do keeps me going back if you know what I mean? The younger staff works in the commissary area with the popcorn, drinks and such and they, too, have the same great attitude as their older peers as well!
There is ample parking with a parking structure across the street. Restaurants in walking distance after movie if you want to go with your family or a date such as the Buttercup restaurant Domino's Pizza , Nation's Burger, and the list goes on and on and on. (Oh, I almost forgot. This theater also has armed security officers! 👮♂️👍) They always peep in and out , walking around inside the movie theater indiscreetly while you're trying to watch a movie. By the way, I feel that it is important to let the Google reviewers know that this theater had armed security way before the theater shootings some years ago. Therefore, this tells me, as well as it should you, that the management at Jack London theater, as well as the Regal Cinemas Corporation, are considerate enough to not only try to make our movie going experience enjoyable, but also try to keep movie patrons safe and...
Read moreHad the worst movie going experience trying to take my family to a 2:10 (we arrived at 1:50) screening of Black Panther 2. We were told, after being dismissed by the theater manager, that our show wouldn’t actually be ready to start until 2:30 (it wasn’t) because of a delayed private screening. We stayed in the lobby, cold popcorn and drinks in hand, waiting for our theater to be ready. We checked in at 2:30 and were told there was further delay, only to eventually find at 2:45 that the movie was started in a different room than on our ticket and that the manger informed an entirely different group of Black patrons this earlier but assumed we were together. Along with another Black woman who had been patiently waiting for this 2:10 showing we were rudely communicated with by the manager who ruined my little sisters movie going experience and for a film meant to have empowered her. Oakland is my home and I am upset to now never return to this theater I’ve gone to most of my life.
Shout out to most of the other staff which were kind and Aaron who initially made us feel welcome and excited for our time before the unprofessional and antiBlack management failed her staff...
Read moreNow they don't have the names for the movies that's showcasing in which room. I went there and split up with my family and I can't figure out which room my movie is in. We're all watching different stuff and because it's the movies, my family turned off their cell and when I ask which movie is where, they're like "where's your ticket?" My family has my tickets and I wouldn't have any problem if I knew where to go.
Why would you do that?
Had a horrible time dealing with this, missed about 15 mins into my movie time to finally get things straighten out.
And there were a couple of other folks that were asking the same. I'm not going to wonder through every single room to find my movie, I'm too old to be doing all that.
I ended up chatting and getting help from a nice security guard. He was more helpful than the regular employees there and he also noted that I wasn't the only one having issues finding my movie because of the lack of movie names. I did find it odd that they need so many guards around, has it gotten that bad at this theater that they need that...
