Pizza Olympia — Restaurant in Alaska

This place is an amazing little gem. The decor and the service really are exceptional and make this restaurant so special. I have had 2 pizzas from here, I apologize I have nothing to offer in the way of pictures, but I can be descriptive, nonetheless. The first pizza had artichokes on it. 😏 Well, that should be enough to tell you it was good, right there!!! It was very delicious and I was not disappointed. The second pizza 🍕 however, was your standard pepperoni and it was a disappointment. The crust was thin and hard and the pepperoni was not anything to boast of, despite there being an ample amount of it. I really wanted to shout their praises, but I was simply unable to do so with this unimpressive pizza. I feel like it was lacking in both the abundance of flavorful sauce, as well as, cheese! It honestly seemed dry, if a pizza can be that wayyyyy. Along with the pepperoni pizza, this time I also ordered a shrimp dish with angel hair pasta. Unfortunately, I did not care for the red sauce, which was spread thick over the sizable shrimp and mixed in with the angel hair pasta.

Their menu IS so wonderfully extensive, that this would have been one of those times, where pictures along side the dish would come in handy. I know they are garish and some would perhaps consider downright tacky. However, upon deciding which meal to purchase for someone who is not as acquainted with Greek food as one would like to be, it would be extremely helpful.

I should like give it yet another try, this time perhaps with a meat ball dish or Lasagna, it is hard to go wrong there.

The wait staff are...

I ordered for delivery at 7:30pm they said delivery would take an hour. An hour and a half goes by and I call to express my concern that the order hasn't arrived. The man asks for my phone number and says the driver will call any minute. Another half an hour passed, and the driver finally calls. My pizza is cold my bread is hard and no longer warm. I call and ask for a refund. The man over the phone argues with me and tells me the delivery guy went to my apartment twice and couldn't get In the door (keyed access building) I mentioned when I initially ordered that they would need to call me when they got here. Apparently the driver was given the wrong number. The manager I was on the phone with told me that he would not refund me because he's already paid the driver twice for driving to my apartment. And then told me to put the pizza and moz bread into the oven to warm it up. I'm bringing it back to the store as it seems that will be only way I can get refunded. Needless to...

We live three hours away and go to Anchorage about 10 times per year. After giving up trying to get in to the Moose's Tooth for the hundredth time, we stumbled upon Pizza Olympia and had the best meal we've had in too long to remember. It's a family run establishment with authentic food and a cozy interior. From the outside driving by, I always thought the place looked closed down. Little did I know there is a back parking lot that is packed. Why on earth someone would wait for 2 hours to eat at Moose's Tooth when this place is down the street, I'll never understand. One man in the Moose's Tooth parking lot actually bought pizzas to go and was tailgating with his wife and four kids eating the pizza out of their boxes while standing, I guess because he didn't want to wait 2 hours for a table on a Tuesday night at 7pm.
