Today I purchased a sectional sofa after searching all over town the past 3 weeks. With the PFD being distributed this month, there have been sales at all the furniture stores and I wanted to find the best deal for the quality. I honestly did not know what I wanted and figured I would have the "ray of light" moment when I saw it. I had pinpointed 2 sectionals I wanted; 1 being from Costco and the other at Bailey's.
The sectional at Costco was a really good deal for the size and quality compared to similar ones at Bailey's. However, in my experience I recommend Bailey's for these reasons:
They have a large variety and selection to choose from. Their showroom is HUGE with 2 floors and all the furniture is beautifully arranged to give you ideas and inspiration.
They partner with a delivery service that makes it super easy at a reasonable rate. I have used them in the past and they did a great job!
They offer a very solid warranty/protection plan beyond the 1 year included. Believe me, as I am one to read the fine print and have used in the past for a previous purchase.
I did not feel pressured into buying/being followed like I did at the other furniture stores. You know, like when you go to a car dealership...
To further the last point and also why I am taking the time to review, is because of the best service I ever received for buying furniture.
I came into Bailey's 2 days ago to look around and was greeted by Trevor. He was very friendly, kind, down to earth, and left a good impression. We spoke for a little bit and I learned it was only his second day and he was in training.
After debating which sectional to buy, I went back in today and walked directly to the area that had the sectional. I had intended to find Trevor, as he was the one I wanted to be sure got the commission and credit for the sale... and coincidentally he was right there! He rememberd me and I explained I wanted to buy and had some questions. At that time he was helping another client/order and he wanted to be sure my questions were answered and that I could check out as quickly as possible. So he informed his trainer, Neil (who I also met 2 days ago) to help me. Trevor also mentioned that he felt Neil should be involved as he had been a big part of his training the day I was there... talk about an honest team player and actual customer service, as I bet most sales associates would have asked me to wait!
Neil was an absolute pleasure to work with! Not only was he attentive, personable, funny, knowledgeable... I felt he really took the time to listen and get to know me in the short amount of time we spent together today. It was almost closing time, but he didnt rush me at all. I explained to him that this was the first time in my adult life that I have purchased a couch brand new, but my Mom had passed away suddenly last month and I wanted to treat myself and try to make my new home (her house) my "own". Instantly, as he was at a computer generating the invoice, he stopped what he was doing and genuinely gave his condolences and asked how I was doing. We talked for a bit, got back to business, and I left as a very happy customer who felt satisfied and even cared for.
I know this is a detailed review, but I have learned recently how precious life is and that it truly does matter to acknowledge the people who are genuine, kind, and help you have a better day. Today I felt that at Bailey's. That feeling is really hard to come by nowadays and I hope management recoginizes the great employees they have!
Thank you again, Trevor and Neil Smith @ the Anchorage store for...
Read moreThey are highly interested in you if they think they can make a sale off of you but after that they're not really interested in what you're trying to do in Furnishing your home. they want to check your credit and do all of these credit and financial checks then they tell you that there's no guarantee on any of the furniture even though you are committing to the purchase. Then they have all items on the floor and they go through a whole spiel in selling it to you only to tell you the warehouse doesn't have it or they don't know if it's in stock. if they don't know what's in stock they shouldn't have items on the sales floor misleading customers. Everything I was looking at they had to keep checking the warehouse and the stuff was out of stock. it's a very huge nice store but it's more trouble than it's worth and you will walk out emptyhanded like me. They don't try to work with you to get you to buy something to fit your needs. You have to either get what they say is available or just leave. It would have been nice if they asked what can I do today to get you to walk out of here with what you need but they didn't bother they just kept trying to tell me what they thought I wanted to have when I came in the store for specific purpose of what I was looking for and they didn't have that they kept trying to give me what they thought I should have. There should be something where the more things you get you get free delivery or something but they dont. Thats a separate business and phone number yo call and additional price. going to this store will make you homeless and that's not the goal of you coming in the store. So if you're trying to actually furnish your house you won't be able to afford to live in it after you shop at this place. They don't even tell you what brands the stuff is and yet they're charging all these full high prices without a price guarantee or free delivery and they're telling you your warranty is not going to be valid if you don't buy this additional thing or that extra thing. it's just ridiculous. I spent a lot of time in there today only to walk out with nothing and I had to still go to another store. I have been sitting on the floor in my house for several weeks and on the air mattress and I was really excited to get furniture today but I didn't get anything because all they cared about was what credit score I was going to have and then they didn't explain to me that it's a line of credit that you would be getting at the store so you're not even trying to get in store financing they're trying to get you to get a line of credit. The guy didn't tell me that until after I was doing the application on the computer they must get a commission for when people apply that's what it feels like because as soon as the computer said I was rejected that was pretty much the end of my conversation with that guy. So I went to a used furniture store instead and they didn't treat me like a walking credit score or like a sale. They asked me what I was looking for and they helped me put together the pieces that I needed and they helped me figure out how to get it to my house. I got everything that I needed for $600 plus they're going to deliver it to my house and I didn't need a credit check I didn't need to pay an additional price for a warranty and for a delivery and for a bunch of xyz b s. I highly recommend jjs furniture. They will treat you like a natural human being who wants to live in their house with Furniture not buy furniture to live on the street with it...
Read moreThey sold me a defective mattress. Phil sold me an amazing couch. I was so happy I went back. Brad is amazing. Sold me my bed set and a mattress. The mattress came in a box and did not fill out. I called they sent a technician out who confirmed itâs a defective bed then told me I have to wait for the manufacturer to pay baileys for the bed then they would let me know what they would do for me. I called and spoke to the GM. So I was told, he didnât give me a name. He giggled as he got my number and information and said he would call back. A gal named Lucy called back, said they sold me a defective mattress and said I could come see if I found a mattress the same price as the defective one and they will deliver it. I went they didnât have either of the beds I wanted in a king size. I went to customer service and they said I had to go to the service department. I explained that Lucy told me I could just come in and look at another mattress. They didnât have any I liked in the king size. They told me she was coming to meet with me. 15-20 mins later the customer service lady said so sheâs not coming you can get a new mattress or you can get a refund. I asked for a refund. The customer service lady then says okay we will send you a check. I said no, I paid cash. She said âwell that is not how this works.â I said I paid cash you will return cash. This is not my fault. She called Mason over and he said it was credited as store credit. The GM needs to approve a refund, but he is not there. 15-20 minutes later he says they will have a check for me the next day. Lucy calls me the next day trying to pick up the mattress at 3pm. I let her know that isnât going to work. I asked her when the check would be ready she said that they would have it on Monday. I informed her the check would be ready today is what Mason said. She said I donât know about that let me check. She put me on hold. Came back and said they will call you when itâs ready. I called baileys a few hours later and spoke to Mason he said the check is cut but the GM is not there to sign it. I will call you back and NEVER called back. I am still waiting. Funny how they are quick to want to pick up their defective mattress but cannot refund the customer. I threw away my old mattress because I bought a new one not thinking it would be defective. There is no sorry, no empathy at all. I am not saying donât buy anything from here, but based on my experience I would never recommend this place. They are quick to take your money and just hope they donât sale you something thatâs been sitting since 2021 so it is defective and you will have to wait on their time to get the situation fixed for you. I paid cash or else I would dispute the charges. This place is not honest and will lie to you to get you out of the store. I will never buy...
