If I could leave negative stars I gladly would. wouldn’t recommend going here. I came in this afternoon looking for 2 games and 2 games only, I’m not a huge gamer and I’m very picky so I came in knowing exactly what I wanted. When I checked out and entered my phone number, the lady checking me out (Jordon) was begging me to get me to go get a third game so I could get it for free since “it was time to renew my membership” (which I NEVER SAID I wanted renewed) trying not to be rude I followed her back, declined what she suggested, and went back upfront. It was a lot of back and forth but at the end of the day, I CLEARLY said, I am not interested in buying the Pro Membership, that I just wanted the 2 games I brought to the counter. She continued to make it seem like I had no choice, I said I didn’t want the pro membership, she literally refused to take it off my total. So instead of paying $55 for the 2 games that I went in for, I paid $85 getting a game that I didn’t really want and a membership I will not use because I don’t play games like that because this woman wouldn’t take no for an answer. DO BETTER. NO MEANS NO. I shouldn’t be asked a hundred times and forced into buying something I don’t want to. I’m the customer, your job is to simply do what I ask of you. I told you I didn’t want the membership. How hard is that to understand? Instead of trying to make it into some big deal next time, just do what the customer asks. Of course my problem was with Jordon, which is who all the other negative reviews also had a problem with. Disappointed but not surprised! She is so rude. Gets very visibly annoyed if you don’t do as her highness wishes. GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!! Or ask to deal with someone that isn’t Jordan, because you won’t have a pleasant time. #1 Took my son to buy a controller he's been saving up for. Went to pay for the used controller that was $49. The manager Jordan rang it up at $49.99 THEN canceled out the the order, printed out a new price tag right in front of me for $59.99, and rang up the controller. REALLY. She said it was supposed to be 59 not 49. The price error is not my fault. She showed my son the controllers and had time to catch the price error before ringing us the first tkme. I immediately made her do a return and went somewhere else to buy a brand new controller for less.
#2 I went in today and unfortunately Jordan was working. She informed me of the current promos. Cool thanks. Looked around didnt see anything really. Decided on a tshirt just to use my monthly $5 coupon. She asked me to pre-order a game. I said no thanks. She recommended a game and I said no. Then shes noticed I have a coupon and points so it would be free. No thanks I want to use the $5 coupon on my current purchase and save up my points. Do you have a xbox? No? Playstation? No. OK I'll but you down for a pre-order for this game on a ps5. No thanks I usually shop at a different location. We'll you can just change it later. No thanks. Its free just get it. No thanks. Literally refused the pre-order so many times. Finally paid for the tshirt tho I just wanted to walk out at that point. Then she hands me the receipt and tells me "Next time someone offers you something free you should take it." Excuse me?! How is it free if your trying to used my rewards or monthly coupon on something I dont want and refused multiple times. They both are things I earned and spend how I want. The employee, JORDAN, told us they had 4–5 colors available but never mentioned that they were used consoles. We chose a color, and she brought it out in a box. The price was $169.99 plus $32.99 for a 1 year warranty. We paid, left the store, and opened the box in the car only to find the console and charger loosely placed inside with no protection or wrapping. The console itself was disgusting. For $170, even for a used device, we expected it to at least be clean and in good condition, especially considering a brand new Switch Lite is only $200. We immediately went back to return it. The door was locked, so we waited for her to let us in. When we explained the issue, she said she could only refund the console because the warranty was “non-refundable.” However, both the GameStop website and customer service state that a full refund should be issued, including the warranty. She insisted there was “no way” to refund it and only offered to swap it for another used console. I called GameStop customer service, and they advised me to try another store. I contacted the Moultrie GameStop, and they were extremely helpful, they even contacted their district manager and coordinated with the Albany store. Eventually, we got our full refund. When we returned to Albany, the same employee said, “We usually wouldn’t do this, but because of the STINK you two created, it’s only a one time thing.” This was incredibly unprofessional.
