I would like to express how I feel about the worst experience I have ever had buying tires. Yesterday my wife had a flat, my tires were purchased at Costco and came with a road hazard policy. I called and asked what I had to do to get this fixed. The young man on the phone was very short but I was able to ascertain that I had to bring in the tire so thay could meaesure it. Ok no problem I'll just put the spare on and drive in. Got there and was lambasted by a technician for walking in the wrong door. I asked where the correct entrance was and was snapped at that it was by the customer service counter. Ok I turned and was walking out to go to the correct entrance when the technician shouts at my back "that's why we have signs" which I hadn't seen on my way in. Got inside and was waited on by a very nice gentleman named ED he took my information ordered the replacement and told me they would call me later that day when the tire got there from the wharehouse. Got the call late that afternoon and was able to schedule the replacement for today, alright this is going pretty good other than a grouchy tech which I would ignore. When I showed up for my appointment the person that waited on me asked where I had parked. I told him just outside the bay doors in the closest spot available. He tells me it has to be in one of the numbered spaces by the "air station." Ok where is that I asked he didn't answer me just said it's "out there"where you turn in your keys. Ok I walked outside and found the air station and parked but saw no one to turn my keys over so walked back inside (this time through the correct door) and now someone else was at the counter and took my key. I then asked to speak with the manager and let him know I didn't appreciate the way I was being treated and would be buying any future tires elsewhere. While my car was being serviced the technician who was the same rude fellow that had checked me in sees me waiting and chastised me for having my tires over inflated I said I would check my gage. Waited for my car as it was only one tire and my car promptly was inside on a lift. Mind you this was just one tire. Nearly an hour later I finally get my car back and looked in the spare tire well to make sure it had been properly secured. It wasn't the spare was just thrown in the well and the fastener to hold it in place was thrown on top. I went back inside and let Ivan the manager know. I then got home and checked my gage to find it is accurate. Just for information I was in the automobile business for over 50 years nearly 30 of that as an A.S.E. certified Master Technician. I know how to air up a tire. In the future if I have to spend a few bucks more to be treated like a human being so be it. Tomorrow I will investigate a membership...
Read moreI have been a Costco member for longer than I can remember and have always felt that Costco truly takes care of their members. Unfortunately, the Eubank store doesn't seem to hold themselves to the same values as other Costcos. The employees at the Eubank store are not helpful and are rude. It took a full week to get a replacement tire on my vehicle, and it only got completed because I called daily to ask if it had been delivered; they were "too busy" to call and let me know it had arrived, even though they told me they would do so - no need for me to call. Once I got an appointment at 5:30 to get the tire installed they didn't get to my car that day and I had to reschedule. Instead of being made a priority because it was their fault they didn't get to my car I was told I'd have to be put on the schedule for the next available appointment and the employee told me he was "frustrated, because he was trying to help me, but I didn't like his solution." This wasn't a solution, this was their normal protocol, a customer comes in they need an appointment, they get put on the schedule for the next available appointment - nothing different than this was being done for me due to their poor perfomance. Upon picking up my vehicle it was said that I probably should have gotten all four new tires. A question I asked upon initial drop off when I got the flat tire and had to order a new tire - but I was told "no, it seemed that one would work because of the mileage and tread on the tires." When mentioning that I asked this when the order was placed the staff member told me "as the owner of the vehicle it was my job to find that out from the manufacturer." Knowing this, I had done so and given the person at time of purchase the information I had received from the dealership, but that was nowhere noted on my account. And although, I did my due diligence, I don't agree with this, the reason I take my car to a place with certified technicians in a particular subject is for their knowledge; I expect them to have the resources readily available to help me, the customer, make an informed decision. I understand that the Costco tire center is extremely busy, but this is a problem management needs to reconcile, so that members get the customer service they have come to expect from Costco. It's unfortunate, but I will be making sure that everyone I know avoids this Costco location...
