I shopped around before coming here. Several months ago, I was in need of a new mattress & I live rurally with no truck, so I was having to depend on U-Haul which ended up costing me over a couple of hundred dollars on top of what I had to pay for a mattress. When I walked into the store I noticed the row of mattresses in front of me, other mattresses were leaned up against the wall to the right of me and more mattresses towards the south end of the store. I didn't know it at the time, but the owner of the store was sitting at the desk, I was not greeted right away. I began to crawl up onto mattresses & lay on them to feel for their comfort. All of the mattresses had a protective plastic cover over them so there was no guilt in doing this. Another worker of the store finally came and greeted me, he asked me if I needed help. I explained what kind of mattress I was looking for & what kind of mattress I currently had at the time. The owner finally stood up and pointed out several mattresses that matched my descriptions so I began to try out each one. I took my time, I told him I hope he didn't mind that I really thoroughly did my research and felt each mattress while lying on them. He stated he did not mind and that he preferred that his customers did so. He did not push up on me to make a sale, nor was he watching me like he was paranoid. He had some charts on the wall that had the comparable prices and totals of some of the bed frames that you can purchase separately with some of the beds. Among these were an adjustable bed frame with lights and vibration and other features. He told me that if I could find a cheaper deal than what he had in the store for the adjustable bed that he would match that price. So I went back out to my car and I did some online research and I found a cheaper deal for the same type of adjustable bed frame for a few hundred dollars less on Amazon and I showed it to him. He replied,"but it's not the brand name that I have". I told him that he stated he would match the price, yet he declined to do so. This makes him not a man who honors his word, but somebody who tries to trap you into a sale even if it's deceptively, cunningly, and patiently. I declined to buy the adjustable bed all together because I was really disturbed that he went back on his word. I was however very highly interested in one particular mattress, a Sleeptronic edge s3000 extra firm queen size. This mattress was priced cheaper than anywhere else at the time for $630.00. He did end up telling me that if I paid cash he would "eat the taxes" and his wife who was co-owner of the store also stated that we would get a free mattress cover with our purchase. Their return warranty is a joke they give you 48 hours, and even if they know that you are struggling to be able to return it they don't care. In fact that's why they give you only 48 hours because they don't want you to return it. After much debate and crunching numbers, I decided to go pull out the cash and pay for the mattress. He did keep his word and did not add on the taxes. However, after doing a little more research after my purchase I learned that his type of business actually makes massive profits they buy these mattresses super cheap due to whatever flaws or errors they have from other companies so he does this magic trick and makes it seem like you're getting a really good deal but you're actually not. If you buy a mattress from this store, you'll see that not too long afterwards, that same exact mattress you bought will go down in price anywhere between $40-60 and you will feel even more cheated. I came to pick up the mattress the next day with the U-Haul he was kind enough to carry the mattress out to the U-Haul for me and helped load it. I have had the mattress for 4 months it is still comfortable and holding together. He was friendly & so was his wife, but in the end, had I known what I know now, I would have purchased the...
Read moreThe so-called 'free delivery' cost us $35 and is not same day delivery either. Free delivery is in truth only up to 5 miles from store. 1st problem
Took the day off for delivery day and much cheaper mattress delivered at the very end of the delivery window. We called the store and were told he 'would correct it personally' to be delivered the following day. 2nd problem
Took half of the next day off for delivery and another cheaper mattress delivered again at the very end of the delivery window. Shouldn't we have been first after their error? The delivery guy called the store and he was not certain if he would be right back with the right mattress or not. He did not come back and no one called us. 3rd problem
Wednesday, we could only leave work an hour early, called store to make sure they knew. The correct mattress finally arrived. But we checked out the website during all this to find out that we were charged $20 more than the advertisement for that bed. 4th problem
What galls me the most: no phone call to us to make sure the right one came. No offer to refund the delivery charge (which is practically a scam alone). No offer to refund the $20 overcharge error. This store is one friendly sales guy and a lot of bad management and possible fraudulent business practices.
UpDate: We called the owner as requested and I will let you know how things go. Bumping one star to two until conclusion.
UPDATE: Conflicted over final rating to give. We were refunded the bogus delivery fee... but they continue to highly market free delivery with no qualifier anywhere to buyers that it only covers 5 miles. The owner did offer that refund... but we had to go back to the store to get it. The store guy did give it to us and without malace... but also without any apology, only pressure to improve this review.
The difference in price between the store charge and website advertised price was not refunded. The owner said his webmaster was at fault. But, he did offer a matress cover and I feel a third star was earned because an effort was actually made and many owners, sadly, just ignore reviews.
Yet I take my role as local guide on google seriously and a fourth star is not earned. They did not actually take responsibility for being at fault. I bought an item, paid up front, receipt clearly stated what I paid for and it is offensive to excuse the delivery of the wrong item (twice) on "miscommunication" that never occurred. I give credit enough to the owner to go from one star to three but I would not go there again nor...
Read moreFINAL REVIEW - I recently purchased a mattress here. Jason and his wife facilitated the sale. They are really awful people, especially Jason. I selected a mattress and made my pick for it to be delivered. I was told the mattress was innerspring for the Sparrow 200 Firm. Upon delivery, the mattress I selected was delivered. I just wasn't sure and wanted to understand what I ordered. Jason got enraged and aggressive by me just ensuring the mattress I ordered was correct. Jason was then trying to record me on the property I'm at which made me feel very uncomfortable while hurling nasty insults at me. The whole exchange was just bizarre followed by his reaction. I assume his reason for anger and nastiness was because he upsold me on this King mattress and the idea of taking it back after he ripped me off on an upsell was just unfathomable. I originally wanted a Queen mattress. He also recommended I pay in cash which was highly sketchy to me. I would stay clear of this place like the plague. It's shady and unprofessional as can be. It does feel good to post this review and clear up the the smoke with transparency on this trashy place. It's called Discount mattress because you get what you pay for, I learned this the hard way. Avoid my mistakes and just STAY CLEAR of this location at all costs! You won't regret it. Jason is all fun and games until you just ask valid questions and he flips out. I was shocked by his explosion to just validate a purchase. Stay away like an atomic bomb went off from the place. That's my...
