Five Star Electronics was assigned to fix my dishwasher through Lowe’s warranty, and I can honestly say it was one of the most frustrating service experiences I’ve ever had. From start to finish, communication was almost nonexistent.
The technician showed up on the first visit without the details he needed, even though Lowe’s had my model and serial number on file. He quickly took a picture and left, promising to call me back with an update. That call never came. I gave it a week, then had to call them myself, only to be told the part would arrive “in a couple of days.” When I tried to schedule, I was brushed off with vague promises of a callback that never happened.
Things only got worse. Days later, they told me they could come “today” with no notice while I was at work. After telling them I wasn’t available, the technician still showed up unannounced at my door. When we finally managed to reschedule, I even took time off work, only for them to show up with the wrong part. Again, I was told they’d order the correct one and call me once it arrived. Of course, that call never came either.
Fast-forward to the eventual repair: the correct part was installed, but the technician left without having me sign off on anything. After he was gone, I noticed a small defect on the control panel that hadn’t been addressed. By that point, I was done wasting time chasing them down and decided that if the dishwasher breaks again, I’ll call someone else.
Here’s the bottom line: the technicians seemed polite in person, but the company’s communication is terrible. Calls aren’t returned, scheduling is a mess, and you’re left in the dark unless you chase them for updates.
If you value your time and sanity, avoid Five Star Electronics. There are plenty of repair companies out there, don’t waste your patience...
Read moreI dropped off my projector on 7/21/2016 to have a diagnostic test run on it. They told me it would be done by the end of the week and I would get a call back. It took them two weeks to give me a call back and I felt like I had to track them down and do their job. Every single time I called to check up on it, no one knew what the status of my projector was and no one would call me back. Then they tried to tell me that they would have to charge me $50 for the diagnostic test, although their website says that they will perform it without charge. About one month later I got a call saying it was finished and all work had been completed; I then called back the next day to see if it was available to be picked up and I was told that no work was done on it and it hadn't been serviced. Honestly, the level of unprofessionalism is astounding. After about 2 months of playing this cat and mouse game I decided to take my business elsewhere, and sure enough my projector hadn't been worked on. I would not recommend Five Star Electronics at all unless you enjoy poor customer service and no...
Read moreLowe’s told me they were the only service center authorized to work on Samsung ovens in Santa Fe , NM, even though they were located in Albuquerque, NM. I called them and left a message but did not get a return call. I persisted and finally got a hold of “Randy” who told me they do service Santa Fe but only come once a week, on Wednesday. I set up an appointment, but did not get a call the day before as promised telling me the time. On Wednesday, I finally reached Randy who told me after several hours wait that they could not come because the part they ordered was defective. He promised he would get someone here on Saturday, but again never called back to confirm or return my calls. So two days wasted waiting for a serviceman who never showed up. My guess is the no-show had more to do with the drive here from their shop, which he said several time was a problem for the repairman, exaggerating the time it would take to get here. I got someone local to do the work and was very satisfied. Judging from the many bad reviews for service they get, I think I was lucky not to...
