I couldn't think of one nice thing to say about this store or their company. I'm a lifelong customer who is not going back from this point on. I started coming here in middle school, I was only 12 going on 13 when I discovered this place. It was a totally different store. They used to sell manga and comics, hard to find Japanese anime, anime posters, and stuff that young nerdy millennials were into back in the late 2000s. Stuff that we are still into! Around 2014, they decided to cash in on the Pokémon revival craze. Guys, like me, grew out of Pokémon long ago, and it didn't feel retro yet. Just outdated. But some people really got into Pokémon again or for the first time. Same with YuGiOh. I feel as my tastes matured the store began offering things I had already moved on from. I used to go to Noble to find new franchises, and I would stay in the store reading for hours and leave with a box of comics and a stack of books. I must've spent enough money here to open my own business. But now they have nothing of interest to me, and I do question if their business decisions have been the right ones.
I find myself shopping at stores that shouldn't even be competitors to Noble. But Noble got into their ring, and now it's funny because those gaming stores that I never cared about have better inventory than Noble. In fact, Noble didn't get me into tabletop gaming, but it was their competitor Slice and Dice. When Noble didn't have what I was looking for for the hundredth time I ended up at Slice and Dice who did have what I was looking for and had a big selection of items and more space for comfortable gaming AND pizza. And tons of DND stuff.
I just don't see myself going back to Noble mainly because I don't own an old ps4, and because I don't play Pokémon. If that stuff appeals to you, you might like Noble. But I didn't. Does that mean Noble is a bad store, not necessarily. But i found not only their inventory lacking but their customer service left something to be desired as well. I think Noble serves a niche for sure, but other stores do it better and are much kinder and more helpful. For those reasons, I can not give Noble anything higher than a 2, and it...
Read moreSit down kids, at let me tell you a true story about Noble Gaming. Lets go back to somewhere in the 2000's. My friend Micheal Tiny P Perea and i are browsing and he asks to see a card. He is mostly blind at this time due to keratoconus thus he can not read the card through the glass. Their response to this was "are you going to buy it? if not no!" this of course led to us not using noble for many many years. Fast forward to about November 2015, we finally check the other noble out on Coors for Force of Will . We met the nicest manager in history, who even offers to judge for us over the phone as we attempt to learn the game. The kindness totally changes our mind about Noble Gaming and repairs the damage done by the original store. Over the next few months we got into the tournaments and met great people and judges including Chris P Bacon who we called fairy because of his deck. We had a great time this past year, We bought over time about 10 boxes, and attended almost every tournament since December. Approximately we have spent 1300 dollars there over this year. I could have gotten the boxes far cheaper online, but paid the extra out of a sense of loyalty. I now regret Every penny. My trust in this company has been betrayed again as they have arbitrarily decided to fire the two people that restored it. Both Anders Klövenäs, and Chris P Bacon. I wish them to know in no uncertain terms, that unless they decide to reverse their decision, my business with them has concluded. If the people in question contact me directly saying the decision was reversed but they declined, ill consider and also edit this post. In the mean time i will make sure that i post this on every social media site i can. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB regarding the original incident, and i will be recommending to Force of Will that they remove them as a official store, as they do not need to be associated with a store that treats their employees and as a side effect...
Read moreI've been going to Noble Collectibles for about 5 or 6 years now. Noble used to be a place with somewhat unfriendly staff (unless you were a regular) and to be honest, they seemed disorganized.
Noble has a tendency to accept everything they're traded in... I've seen games, dvds, and trading cards in perfect condition, and I've seen stuff in awful condition. It used to be that the staff wouldn't really even check if a game was scratched or damaged unless you asked. As other reviews mentioned, occasionally you'll see bootlegs of games and dvds here, but they don't price them like the real deal. As I said, Noble accepts nearly everything you trade them for (particularly their Coors location)... and if that bothers you, then don't shop here. Noble has many, many legit items for sale - but they have a few funny things, too, like fake hacked Pokemon games and Chinese anime DVD sets some poor bloke probably bought cheaply off of ebay.
Also, in the last few months, it seems that Noble Collectibles has hired a lot of new staff. Most of these staff members are younger and much, MUCH friendlier to everyone. The staff now checks everything and shows you before you make your decision to purchase. They've implemented new organization skills, have better stickers for their products (that do not damage the boxes, thank god!) and seem to have a greater variation of product types for sale.
So -- to sum up my review -- as someone who honestly appreciates a store that sells video games, comics, cards, AND dvds, among other things -- I think Noble Collectibles is a fine place to shop. Maybe it's not as specialized as other places (if you want something that specializes in a certain type of product, there's a lot of other stores around the ABQ area that are great), but if you know what you're getting when you go there, you can find many a hidden gem and hard-to-find product here. Highly recommended, especially after their increase in competent and friendly...
