Working with Dejan was such a wonderful experience! Dejan is enthusiastic, passionate, creative, personable, and so incredibly talented. My fiancé and I went to the studio several times. We were inexperienced with fine jewelry and indecisive. Initially Ivan helped us and had me try on a ring I never thought would be my style but ended up being our inspiration. Dejan was patient with us and made the custom engagement ring process so much fun! For instance, when we decided the shape of diamond but didn’t know if we wanted to go natural or lab grown, Dejan displayed six similar stones and had us blindly select our favorite so we were not swayed by quality, type, size, etc. This helped us select the stone we truly wanted. We brought in pictures of what setting we envisioned. For weeks, Dejan would provide us renderings and wax models and we would refine our design and choices. Sometimes there was a gap in time between refining and seeing the next product BUT when we saw the quality of the renderings and models, we very much understood why. Me and my fiancé also had no timeline for when we wanted the ring completed which Dejan very openly discussed and checked in with us about. The process was smooth and collaborative. The ring holds even more significance knowing we were part of its creation. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the process and how fair and reasonable it was to commission Dejan’s incredible work. We stumbled upon Dejan's shop over a romantic weekend getaway to Alexandria, Virginia long before we were engaged. I fell in love with Dejan's work and we kept in correspondence for about a year as I love his designs and had so much fun following his work. When my partner and I decided that we wanted to get married, of course I went to Dejan! He encouraged me to work out my own design rather than pick from one of the rings he had in his shop and I am so glad that I did. I ended up designing a beautiful sapphire engagement ring (my fiance's birth stone) surrounded by diamonds and a complementary set of two modern bands with yellow and green diamonds mixed with some white diamonds from my grandmother's wedding band. I told Dejan how important the ocean is to me and the set beautifully captures the colors of the sea and is like nothing I have ever seen before. Dejan wove specks of gold throught the diamonds and it looks like sunlight upon crashing waves. The sparkle can not be captured on film and is truly magical to see. I am thrilled. My partner and I are also both entrepreneurs and did not have a large budget. I bought my own sapphire and Dejan was able to keep the cost of the three ring set to a price point that I could afford. You would never know that all three rings cost less than most people spend on a single stone, and truly, my set is STUNNING. I will be returning to Dejan for special pieces...

After finding and purchasing my new emerald and deciding to have it made into a ring, I knew exactly who I wanted to make my very special ring......Dejan of Dejan Studio in the Old Torpedo Factory in Alexandria. I found Dejan's studio a few years ago, while visiting the art center with a friend. The moment I entered Dejan's studio, I was mesmerized! He doesn't make ordinary jewelry, his creations are pure magic! Though I offered some input, Dejan, after talking with me and honing in on my taste, came up with an absolutely gorgeous and magical design for my new ring. He kept in touch while creating the design and emailed me 3D images enabling me to tweak anything I wanted to. Dejan's customer service skills are exceptional! He stayed in touch, he listened, he was always very polite, pleasant and professional as is his staff. His background is sculpture and it shows in each of his carefully crafted designs. My ring was completed a little earlier than I expected. When I picked up my ring and saw it for the first time, I couldn't believe how beautiful it turned out. Even better than the 3D design!
