Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Alexandria

I just can’t take it anymore, I’m a HUGE fan of Dairy Queen, love blizzards and sundaes and the chicken basket, they’re a huge part of my childhood and I’m very thankful to live somewhere with access to it. However…this specific establishment is an embarrassment. The workers are HORRIBLE, they’re not always the rudest some of them can be nice and attentive, but none of them have any idea what they’re doing. If you try to modify any order it throws them for a loop…this is ice cream you guys, it shouldn’t be so hard to add or remove something to it. Also NO ONE knows how to mix a blizzard properly, everything is always bunched up at the top with only soft serve in the bottom. I’m eating a cotton candy blizzard right now and there’s giant chunks of the cotton candy coating when it should be blended throughout the soft serve for flavoring and to turn it pink. The reason this happened is because they didn’t mix thoroughly enough and then waited too long to mix it and the coating hardened, laziness. I also love the caramel fudge cheesecake blizzard specially for the rolo-esque chocolate caramels. The last two times I’ve gotten it they didn’t even put the pieces in there it was just cheesecake pieces. If you run out of items…tell the customer! So they don’t pay for something they don’t want. Also the drive thru is ancient and a danger to the service road it desperately needs to modified, not to mention they are so slow at the window. The biggest positive I can say is that the hot food is always done well, the guys they have on the grill know what they’re doing and are consistent. I visited this restaurant on Saturday May 13th and went through the drive thru. I had to repeat my order 2 times as they did not understand or hear what I said the first time. When I got up to window they gave me my drinks and asked me to pull up to reserve parking spot to wait on my food. I then looked over my receipt which was confusing so I parked and went inside. The girl at counter immediately rolled her eyes whenever I walked in and was extremely rude! Not once did she say hello or greet anyone else that was in there. The gentleman explained my receipt that they rang up my 4 cheeseburgers with a 2 for 5 promotion. I said they could have explained that to me but thank you. I proceeded back outside to wait for my food. A few minutes later they brought it out only to be a cheeseburger short! I walked back inside for my second time and told them that they were missing my cheeseburger. They said ok we will get it. I said no problem. I waited a whole 30 extra min for one cheeseburger!!!! That I only received because the older white gentleman (the one that brought us our food to the car) came back in and asked what was wrong. He literally just grabbed the cheeseburger put it in bag and handed it to me it was sitting there the whole time!!!!!! They definitely need better workers in there. My sister and myself drove up to this place and saw the drive through had 3 cars in it (full by this building standards since its a poorly designed drivethrough). So we went in to order.

I ordered a flamethrower meal (the burger, fries, medium drink, and a small sundae) and she ordered a crispy chicken sandwich meal (the sandwhich, fries, and medium drink).

When we finally got our order they forgot my sundae and I had to remind them. It took them 5 minutes to get it while they put other customers ahead of me. I had already got my other food and they were already giving everyone else around me food and not finishing the one thing they left off... the sundae. Then to make matters worse when they gave it to me it wasnt even a sundae it was ordinary vanilla icecream. Thre was no chocolate on top, no cherry of any kind, nothing to indicate "sundae". However, I wasnt about to wait for them to mess it up again for what may be 15min after all this and just left with my vanilla icecream and food.

Not until we were already gone and I started eating my flamethrower burger did I discover how awful it was. The flamethrower burger was incredibly dry. It was as if there was no moisture in the patty and no sauce.

In summary I will never eat there again and will definitely recommend that no...
