My Boyfriend and I have been frequenting Redner's on Airport Road for a few months now. We go strictly for the meat because the prices are usually the best around and the cuts are good. Whenever we go we usually end up with the same cashier, a man named Ron. He is always chatty and friendly. Today however we made the "mistake" of going to his line thinking that he would be happy to see familiar faces.......wrong!!! . His checkout line was express 12 items or less. Since there was no line we proceded to his line with 16 items. This man actually sounded an alarm to alert the entire store that we were 4 items over. I didn't know if that alarm was connected to the Allentown Police Dept or possibly store security was going to come and eject us from the store. We asked him why he was acting this way toward us? His response was " it's not fair to the other customers". Now ,if we had a full cart we would have never went in the express line. And there was literally nobody behind us. The total checkout time took less than 4 minutes. My boyfriend told the cashier exactly what he thought. I think what bothers me the most is that for 4 extra items ,Ron was ready to make a citizens arrest on us. Im disgusted. Never will we go back there. I dont care if the meat prices are $1.00. You dont ruin good customer relations over something so trivial and try to embarrass them with an "alarm" for 4 extra items. I have never ever seen something like that done before. Maybe Ron needs a new gig as a Rent-a-cop. Might be a better...
Read moreI don't do my so called big shopping here as I find it to be more expensive then the other grocery stores with less choices. However I will say that they have great meat selection. Every time I have purchased ground beef it was freshly ground that day! They always have good meat and poultry deals. However I was disappointed in their ice cream selection or lack of. I bought Breyers cookies & Cream it was the only Breyers cookie and cream ice cream there, only to get home and find out it was non dairy and made with almond milk etc. So if you are looking for that healthy option this is your place. Also find items a bit out of place so the isle you think they would be in they aren't. Some of the staff are very friendly others act like your bothering them when you have to usually go back to front of store and ask someone at the register or desk to find anyone. The store is always clean and the items they do carry are...
Read moreAlthough Redners remains my go to supermarket for my various groceries and other household items, I occasionally find myself frustrated when certain shelf items like canned Diced tomatoes, and other items not affected by covid hording are repeatedly out of stock. With that said, this Redners store has overall done as good of a job as one could hope for in keeping items stocked and handling the health issues with Covid, such as social distancing, and protecting both customers and employees while preventing long lines and customers crowding together waiting to pay for their items. Definitely...
