I am a faithful shopper in this particular store. I usually have a pleasant shopping experience. But, however - today's experience was not pleasant at all. I am sure that the cashier was fairly new. First, I purchased sweet potatoes ( price per pound 49 cents - cashier rang then in at $ 2.49 per pound). Big difference. However, when the person came up to assist her with the void. Things were fixed - promptly instead of $ 13.67 - I was charged correct price $ 2.70. this transaction was good
4 Then came the free turkey issue. The person who helped with the potato issue - was very "Rude" .
Small turkey 10 - 16 pounds. Large turkey 18 - 20 pounds My question where does the difference in small and large go - 2 pounds.
I will continue to shop Giant Eagle; but I will do my best not to shop when this particular clerk is working.
She literally miss treated - with customers in line behind me . I may be a Senior Citizen's but I deserve respect. My actual cashier was Cecelia. I did not get the name of the Rude One, but I will remember her face -- way too...

As we were checking out the cashier was having a very tough day so I tried to offer words of encouragement to calm this person down. All the while the other employee was still following us very closely. After checking out, as we were exiting I mentioned to this employee that was conveniently still following me about how the cashier needed a break and this guy shrugged his shoulders and scoffed. I then said he should be checking on employees instead of following me around at 7.5 months pregnant! All to come home and find that some sticky substance was on the bread bag which smelled horribly like beer and the yogurt we purchased was about to expire in 3 days!!! How terrible to spend extra gas money, pay more for the products because of the name on the building to being creeped out by being stalked by 2 people which one was an employee to come home to ruined food! Never again will...
Read moreYour basic Giant Eagle grocery store. Could use more organic and healthy options. I know it's not a Market District store but this location USED TO have one of the largest (and very organized) organic food departments in the area. They did a remodel a couple of years back and removed all those items from one common area and spread them out in the various isles throughout the store. Also in the process don't carry some (removed/don't sell) of the items I used to shop for at this location.
For the wine folks you'll be happy to know the section of the store that once housed all the healthier items is now fully stocked with a reasonably large selection of wines an other beverages. (not happy a happy experience for me)
I don't shop here as much as I used to. I have to drive further and visit either the Giant Eagle Market District store towards Canton or Cuyahoga Falls. OR SKIP Giant Eagle completely and shop at the Mustard Seed in West Akron...
