Cato — Local services in Alton

This is in reference to the Alton Illinois Cato. Beware when doing returns or exchanges that you are not cheated out of money. Three times in a row the woman who identified herself as the manager, Monique, gave me back the incorrect amount of money when bringing back an online return. The first time I questioned and it was made right on the spot. The second time I caught it but a family member did the return for me and the 3-4$ was not worth the effort. The third time was today. I intentionally had a family member do the return and when I reviewed the return it was for one item and it was short 4$ plus tax. I went into the store to address the issue and it was again Monique who short changed me. I asked why I was not given the correct amount this time and stated that all three returns at her store with her were short. I let her know I felt this was a pattern. She stated that it was an easy fix, yes it is but WHY was I being cheated each time?! I was never answered nor given an apology. Instead she called me a stupid woman while raising her voice at me. When I called the Glen Carbon Cato I was told by their manager that when doing online returns they must type in the return amount. This means she intentionally is stealing money from customers! This woman also threatened me when I told her to lower her voice and do not call me stupid. She took her mask down leaned in to me and said what are you going to do about it. I told her I was calling corporate which I will while I am doing my OWN job tomorrow I will call corporate. Just watch your receipts. By the way I was owed 11.99 plus tax. I was given back 7.99 exactly. After complaining she gave me another 3.62$. So she still ripped me off. She is a theif period and I caught her. This woman needs termination. I also called the Alton police so if corporate does not handle this appropriately I am pressing charges. Cato I sure hope you make this right no one should be stolen from or threatened no matter the amount...

I love Cato. The clothes are well made, true to fit sizing, well coordinated, contemporary and classic, and very well cut/proportion. I'm a fat woman who doesn't want to look like I'm wearing "fat lady" clothes such as mumus, tents, or deceased parachutes. Cato's clothes are sharp and flattering. That's half the store, the other half is misses sizing, with all the benefits of the plus side, too, as well as great selection, coordination, and pricing. The staff is always super helpful and greet every customer at the door. They have some of the fastest checkouts at a clothing boutique I've ever experienced. I was in here several weeks ago. I was excited to see the store and do some shopping… however, the manager on duty, I believe her name was Dana, she was pretty rude. Not a hi, hello or even a smile. No thank you or have a good day after I purchased items.
