Mine & my family's stay at best western was poor, we arrived in Alton,Illinois at almost 10 am Saturday morning May 2nd the front desk attendant stated that their check in was at noon that we would have to be charged as if we had already stayed their (mind u we didnt we just would have to be charged that way) so my mother said that's fine because we were tired from a 13/14 hour drive. We stayed in the room. From 11am-5pm the day we arrived, later that day @ 5pm May 2nd we left to spread my great grandmother's ashes onto the Mississippi/Illinois river we got to the hotel @9/10pm stayed till 5am Sunday May 3rd because my family in the other room woke up to finding bed bugs on their bed in their blankets! Telling us to check our bed Photos were taken and immediately brought to the front desk attendant attention. She stated that her Manager said was nothing they can do about it besides stay sorry we had a bad experience. They couldn't even refund half the total of the room which was 400$ for a room we bearly spent time in. We packed up immediately and check out on Sunday May 3rd @5 am! We made it to texas within 9 hours long story short my my mom woke up today Monday May 4th to her card being charged a additional 200$ for a "smoking fee" my mother calls the Hotel back and they said a room we rented had the stench of Marijuana "weed" mind you my family members in the main room only smoke tobacco "Cigarettes" and when they did smoked they stepped outside away from the building not once did they smoke in the hotel room and the other room rented were minors besides my self I'm 19 but we do not smoke any illegal substance or tobacco. This hotel Needs to be looked at by BBB. We recommend nobody to stay here at best western on homer Adam's in...

Hotel is old and rooms are pretty beat up. They are clean though, so that's nice.
Elevator is out of order, so good luck hauling your luggage upstairs.
My room barely had enough outlets to plug in and charge my devices. I travel with a lot of equipment for work, and getting everything plugged in and charging was an issue. One other outlet-related issue: there's an in-room coffee maker that's not near any outlet. If you want to make coffee in your room, you need to move the whole thing.
Wi-Fi is okay for downloading, but SLOW for uploading. If you need Wi-Fi for work, it will be a challenge here. What should have taken 5 minutes to upload took about 45 minutes.
Microwave and refrigerator work really well. Too well at times.
Bathroom is TINY. Hot water in the shower never really got hot.
Free breakfast is small and has the usual offerings. Hot foods were not hot though, which seems unsafe.
Walls are THIN. Had to listen to other guests snore all night, as well as dogs barking.
Bed was clean and comfortable.
This hotel is basically in the parking lot of another hotel, so it's weird to access. When you are driving through the parking lot, watch out for people drinking and smoking weed, as well as the meth-heads asking for money. I had no idea this area was like this, otherwise I would have stayed someplace else.
Staff is friendly.
For some strange reason, the TV in the lobby was always playing some sort of horror movie. As I waited for my DoorDash delivery, I watched some lady cut up a bunch of people with a chainsaw, covering everyone in blood. So that was fun.
Pretty sure I'm coming back to this area for work. Pretty sure I'm never...
Read moreI am a Best Western Rewards member and usually very happy with their hotels. But this one is in bad shape, first off we couldn't get our key card to work to get into the back door of the hotel. Then the key card didn't work on our room door. You have to try it several times we finally get into our room. We go to open the closet door. The door handle falls off. It literally was hanging by one screw. There were stains on our carpet. The bathroom door looked like someone had punched a hole through it and it was poorly patched up. There were no shears on our Windows so you either had to have the room darkening or open for everybody to see into your room. The bottom of our bathroom door clearly had severe water damage. We went down for breakfast the first day and it was your typical hotel breakfast, but the the second day we went down the gravy for the biscuits was ice cold. The eggs were ice cold and the girl who was working in the area was too busy on her phone to check to see if anything needed to be refilled. We were awoken at 1:00 a.m. by a barking dog in the room either next to us or a couple doors down. The only positive was the staff...
