This is a 1 star review as 0 is not an option. I called for new internet service and asked for deals as a new customer. I found a deal online for 64.99 for 1 gig service in my area. When I called they quoted $69.99. I explained to the sales associate that I saw a lower advertised price and was looking for 1 gig wireless/wifi service. The sales associate placed me on hold and after speaking to a supervisor he said he had permission to make the adjustment. I asked him if all equipment was included and if there were ANY other fees, he walked me through an itemized list of ALL charges on the phone, 64.99 per month, 19.99 one time activation and $1.37 taxes. That was it no other equipment or other hidden fees for my wifi 1 gig service. The next morning I noticed that my email had a bill for the first month of service and had and extra $5 for wifi router. I called to either cancel shipment of the equipment and service or have the bill adjusted to what was agreed upon for service. They transferred me to several people but eventually I spoke with the retention department who said they could adjust the base service fee and I could keep the wifi, but they had to wait until the equipment arrived and the service was turned on before they could make the edit. She told me to just call back in and it would be a quick 5 minute call to make the edit. I called tonight and was told that once I activate the equipment I have locked in and agreed to whatever the price is on the bill and no adjustments would be made. The supervisor in retention said he heard my sales call and will offer coaching to the sales associate, but they do not honor misinformation and would not honor the price promised. He had not listened to the call I had with retention yet, but would listen however again...any misinformation was simply that and they would not honor such prices promised. I could either give up wifi service and use ethernet or cancel charter and find someone else. That is what I was trying to do when I saw the email with the wrong price, but was lied to and tricked to activate my service. If I had been allowed to cancel then, I had a few days off work (work from home) for my move....now it is MUCH harder to switch service providers. Clearly customer service and retention departments will flat out lie to you to promise a cheaper price and get you to activate service. DO NOT trust them! Do NOT use them. Get...
Read moreMy husband and I went into the Alton store last night and there were 6 in line saying they were unable to check in. When we were all told to check in by Craig we told him we could not, he became so rude and said it works just fine. He came over and rudely spoke to the first person in line. He was able to check her in but it took him a long time and he could barely type in her info and get it to work. The same thing happened to all of us as we attempted to check in. He continued being rude and antagonizing. He made us feel like we were idiots. I asked why he was being so rude and he said, “you don’t know what we put up with everyday”. It’s his job. He continued trying to antagonize my husband. Myself and my husband were both very upset. I have never been treated this was by a customer service representative in my life. I asked for a manager and he said there wasn’t one there. We are seriously considering cancelling our services with you because of this one man. We have had phone, internet and cable service with you for the last 5 years but this is unacceptable. The other customers before us were yelling at this guy because of his behavior. Craig seemed to think it was funny. Educate your employees about proper...
Read moreSpectrum mobile is an absolute trash storm. So many spots without service, and their prices go up seemingly every couple of months, even with phones that are completely paid off and nothing changed. Our bill used to be $60/month and it’s almost double that. Ow at $116/ month. Our contract is done so I’m currently shopping for new providers because it seems borderline criminal practice to raise prices on services that didn’t change, plus their service is easily the worse in the area. Just another corporate greed-ran company that locks customers in then secretly raises the rates. They do this for internet and TV all the time, and I’m glad that in a couple months a new provider will be in the area with fiber internet and I’ll be dropping that as well. Spectrum does not care about long term customers, so I’m dropping them after...
