I have been a Cricket customer for 3 years. Went to Gmet store in Alton, IL to upgrade phone. I purchased a cheaper Cricket branded phone (Ovation 2) and chose not to get insurance on it, as I was told it had a 7-day return policy. When the phone stopped working the following day, I returned it to the store a couple of days later and was told that it would not be refunded or replaced since it was damaged. I was told by the store manager that I would have to call Cricket customer service, which I did while still in the store. Customer service told me that it was Cricket policy that I could get a refund or exchange on the phone within 7 days, and if I was not offered it, then Customer Service recommended that I call the police. I was then told by the store manager that this is a Gmet Communications store and not Cricket and their policy was not to replace or refund a damaged phone. I asked to speak to the district manager and was told he was busy and would not speak to me. The store manager took my number to have the district manager call me, and she then said that if I did not leave the store she would call the police. At no point was I raising my voice or being unreasonable. At that point I did leave the store and as recommended by Cricket customer service, I did call the police. While waiting in my car outside the store in the public parking lot, the district manager called me back. He told me that I would not get a refund or exchange since the phone was damaged. I did tell him I had called the police per the advice of Cricket customer service, and he told me the police could not do anything, or make the store give me a refund. He refused to give me a phone number or contact information for a higher-up person in the company or a corporate customer service number, and then he hung up on me, I wonder how many working people this company has treated in this manner. This is a company that sells a defective product and does not offer a refund or exchange, or...
Read moreBeen having problems with the service for almost a week. Call customer support multiple times and went through all their steps to try to fix it. Was unable to so they told me to go to the store and see if they could fix it. All the store did was checked my storage use, which is well below half, and told me i needed a new phone and that the insurance wouldn't cover it. In the 10 minutes i was there i was told i just need to upgrade my phone at least 8 times. Can definitely tell they work on commission. The manager was of no help either. Just said "yeah, we've had quite a few people with issues."
Left the store and called customer service again and explained that the store was of no help, just trying to get money out of me. He then asked where i was located and i told him the zipcode. He then asked if i was close to St. Anthony hospital and i told him just a couple of miles away. He then told me that the tower for that area has been undergoing maintenance and it should be back up tomorrow and to try my phone in a different area to see if still having issues. What do you know, it works fine elsewhere.
All this BS and it was something that could have been relayed to me 5 days ago when i first...
Read moreToday was the worst customer experience I've had with this store. The manager had a major attitude and first attempted to kick me out of the store because I was asking questions about something and clarification because what I was told about a week ago was different information. Then they didn't even help me set up my new phone. The manager then kicked me out the store when I purchased the phone. There was no hello and welcome when you walked in. One of the other representative basically said what phone do you need. Didn't look at my account to see if I needed an upgrade or what would be the best fit for me. Didn't even sell me a case or screen protector. I have to go to another Cricket store tomorrow to get me phone set up. I will never go into the Alton store again. I called Cricket to report it and the gentleman apologized but offered nothing to compensate or anything like that for bad behavior. Just going to send to his boss and review the video. Not good...
