According to the cashier and the security guard it’s okay to make fun of white people.

I came in to buy Dexter The Complete Series for my father birthday. They did have it, but I had to sit there and be disrespected at the same time. The cashier and the security guard were making fun of white people right in front of me, saying we’re stupid rednecks and that we all have gallon jugs with three X’s on them that we spit in. The cashier then proceeded to make fun about the way we talk. Being from Texas, I found this incredibly disrespectful.

The prices were really good, and the selection was actually incredible if you enjoy retro/old school gaming. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend any establishment who will openly disrespect anyone like that, regardless of race or sexual...

The staff is helpful and knowledgeable - when they don't have an answer off the top of their head they ask another employee or do some research for you instead of saying "I don't know" - which is nice. They also have no problem trying to look for an item at another Slackers or try to order it new for you if they are out of stock.

For being in, what seems to be a dying mall, they are always a little busy when we come in. They have 2 people working so having patience with checking out / filling items and getting help is a must. Everyone has been chill when we visit, even when dealing with over dramatic / problematic people.

We drove a long way to come here and I was incredibly disappointed. I don't get the impression that Alton had a large video game following in the past. This location's selection of used games was laughable and unimpressive. They had every useless title you can't remember but no games of any worth or merit. I feel bad for the gaming industry, its taken a hit of sad and epic proportions. Moral of the story? Stop in as a novelty if you're into that sort of thing, but don't expect to walk out of there with anything of interest. Unless of course you happen to need a Nintendo GameCube microphone to play...
