I am extremely disappointed in the lack of not only customer service, but the sheer detest the store owner has for anyone who walks in. I came here today, and was bombarded with the most absurd signs posted everywhere! Completely understandable to ask customers to keep little ones at their side and to not touch merchandise or open closed doors. However, the woman working here is just TRYING to find any reason to push business out. The employees fridge is in the middle of a booth packed with merchandise. Again, understandable that in an older building with so many items it would be hard to relocate, but there are fridge locks and you can post a more professional sign.
With her being an older woman, I wasn’t going to leave a review until I read the other reviews and noticed her absolute refusal to take the consumers opinion and maybe reword some signage.
It may be time for her to acknowledge she just doesn’t have the capacity to carry on the business and pass it off or sell it all together.
As for the vendors here, I apologize for the disservice your store owner is doing to you and hope that she realizes her misgivings before it’s too late. The merchandise itself is beautiful and neatly organized. All props to the dedication it takes to acquire such stunning...
Read more1 Star because why someone have to be rude on replies and everything not ok, the store yes. We liked the store my daughter (9) and myself. We came in a little later in the afternoon it could have just been a long day she seemed a little upset but who wouldn't be on a hot Texas day. It was very organized and set up nicely. As well as warnings and such up top so you don't hit your head. But where allot of the people are commenting about the warning signs for the children and so on so forth it was a little much all over the place! Hard to enjoy when that's all I see. The one that threw me for the loop what's the $10 charge for opening a door. I went through and read previous posts and comments returned back and was not too impressed with how things were said.... I guess you could say it's not very business like.
** Didn't say anything wasn't up to my standards. And wasn't complaining about the look on your face as well. May not be on RT 66 but I get it no need to be feisty. We all have days and we all have certain clients but just smile because you never know what's on...
Read moreGood inventory and fun collections (average compared to the rest of the area), but not a very welcoming atmosphere, especially if you have children. A lot of signs about keeping children in check in very offsetting way. Shop keeper overly watchful of my very calm-demeanored, well-mannered kids. I’m more than understanding about the need for antique stores to encourage caution with little ones, but it was a bit over the top. I much preferred the surrounding antique stores, where shop keepers were very friendly and polite with me and my kids. (At a neighboring shop, the cashier even gave them some free books to encourage them to come back). So, an ok stop in general, as far as antiquing goes, but not my preference when considering the simple small-talk and pleasant speciality I tend to enjoy at other places.
(Update after reading owner's response:) I'll just let the owner's own response to my review (as well as her response to others' reviews) speak...
