Dunham's Sports — Local services in Amber Township

Im not sure why the Ludington Dunhams has so many bad reviews, Ive never had a bad experience! The store is well maintained and good prices. I have been in there many many times for anything from shoes to guns. The selection in some departments are limited (Fishing was my only real issue) but even so there is anything that you will really need for an outing in my opinion. The guy working the hunting and fishing department is awesome and seems quite knowledgeable (early 20s I would imagine). He always smiling and willing to help. They also now sell hand guns which is plus. The young girl (low to mid 20s if ! had to guess) that always seems to be running the shoe department seems to have her department well organized and crisp however she could probably use another associate to help her out from time to time since she seems to be doing everything by herself. She has also helped me in firearms when I was looking for a 30.06. in the absence of the regular guy running the gun counter, very helpful there too. The store manager has always been very kind to me and answers my questions whenever I have them. only complaint is that there is never a lot of workers...

Well this is now the 3rd time over the last 6 weeks I have checked the flyer and called the Ludington, MI Dunham's store to check on a shotgun. Each time I was told "YES, We have that one on hand." I made a 26 mile trip from my house to the Store, wait for an employee to help me out and be told that particular weapon ( the one on sale in thier flyer) is not in stock and has not been for about a month. So at the moment I am not a happy customer, nor am I likely to shop at that store again as all they wish to do is upsell me another shotgun at 3 to 4 times the price. I have also stopped to check on a revolver supposedly "on Sale" for $119.99 to find it is not available ( in stock) but the same type ( name brand and model) is available but at $169.99) Tis nothing but a bait and switch program in my view. My assistant today was the Store manager. Since this is 3rd time with same experience, I have decided to cross them off my list of places to shop for any thing at all. I value Honesty and disapprove of...

The service is horrible. Went in with my wife to get her some good shoes. To gals watched us looking at shoes as they stood there talking!! We had to ask for help. Wife asked to try on on a par of shoes. Not sure on size she would need she asked for a 6 wide and a 6 and a half. She came back with 7 handed them to her and walked away. Never to been seen again. Needless to say we spent $150.00 dollars else where. And I won't get started on the exercises bike we wanted buy after the third trip in and the manager telling us she would be right back to help us again never to been seen till we walked by her on the way out she was eating her lunch at the front counter as we walked out. I said thanks for the help. And pushed the button to buy the same bike from Amazon for more than it was on...
