Richmond Ice Zone — Local services in Bon Air

Ice Zone is a great rink! It's full-sized and is well kept. They do 2 hour open skating sessions with skate rental as well as hockey and figure skating lessons. They also host hockey games for a local team. They Zamboni the ice regularly and have rink safety people on the ice at all times. They even have a cool solution for a device to help those who don't skate well - stacked, overturned buckets! We went with our family. We had a great time. I brought my own skates but my family said the rental skates weren't so great. I like that they have rink guards out on the ice. The facility is a bit run down but still better than most roller rinks. Also, the ice gets messed up pretty quick w/people using upside-down buckets to help them not fall. They have not updated this place legitimately since 2004. Not saying that’s a bad thing but they 100% need to invest in getting at least somewhere to put your shoes and your belongings.
