My wife and I stayed at the Majestic Inn and Spa last night, and both got a massage, which we were very happy with. In fact, a gal by the name of Bryce did my massage, and it was honestly the most relaxing massage of my life. I see below a gal complained that Bryce "was just a gal pulled in off of the street." That was not my experience AT ALL. Bryce was wonderful, and I would highly recommend her. I usually get deep tissue, but decided to get a relaxation massage. It was exactly that, and didn't feel at all rushed. She also spent time concentrating on all the major muscle groups from my head to toe. Anyways, I am leaving 4 instead of 5 stars for three reasons. 1. I had changed into my robe before I was notified that the bathroom in the men's changing room was out of service. So I had to walk upstairs to the nearest bathroom in my robe, or change, go upstairs to use the restroom and then come back downstairs and change back into my robe. That would have cut into the massage so I just ran upstairs in the robe and sandals. 2. The sandals they gave me to wear were pretty darn uncomfortable, hard and made of plastic. 3. I was asked if I wanted to have any oils used during my massage, and asked Bryce to choose what she thought would be best. I told her I was just coming from a stressful day at the office and so she used something that had a really cooling effect (big blue, I believe is what she called it). It was great. There was never any mention of an additional fee, and when I went to leave, I was told by the gal at the desk that I owed another $15 for the extra oil that was used. Again, I was never notified of an extra charge, or I would have passed. But, again, Bryce was wonderful, and did a fantastic job. Just wish there had been better communication between the staff and myself in terms of the one and only men's toilet being out of commission, and then the extra cost...
Read moreThe customer service here is appalling. They ruined a birthday surprise my husband had planned 2 months in advance for me, twice. They called me to confirm our appointments and made up an elaborate lie that they called xx64 instead of xx63, when I have an out of state phone number. Then they sent me a confirmation text 2 days later. When I called to ask what the issue was, they said it was noted that the appointments were a birthday surprise and not to call me. The next day they called my husband to ask him to move one of our appointments (he had booked facials and a couples massage) to accommodate another client. Are you kidding me? He said no. Is it a surprise that the next day (today) at about 5:45pm we are told a provider is “sick” (convenient 2 days before Christmas) and our scheduled couples message (which they now say they have booked separately) need to be cancelled. But we can still do the facials. Absolutely not. I wouldn’t waste my money after the completely horrible experience l, after going here for 5 years. Icing on the cake is that last year they had a broken pipe and we couldn’t have the lunch we planned or use the steam room or showers. 2 years in a row of disappointment. We will never come back and we will share this awful mess with friends and family. Management needs to do better.
My husband requested female therapists. Telling me a male is sick make this even more ridiculous bc a request like that should always be honored. We weren’t offered a time change for tomorrow when called today. Your staff doesn’t follow directions for appointments and they clearly don’t listen...
Read moreMan OR woman, you must make the time to have a wonderfully relaxing and pampered "Spa Day", at The Apothecary Spa in the Majestic Hotel! I checked in early to take advantage of their eucalyptus steam room which was heavenly. Wrapped in a thick bath robe I begin my session with a full body sugar scrub with Beth. Not knowing what to expect I was thrilled with the results! My skin transformed into soft, healthy skin again! After relaxing in their tranquility room with a fireplace, I began my 90 minute massage with Tim as my therapist. He was 5 STARS all the way! I received the BEST anti-stress massage with Tim ~he focused on relieving every tense muscle and relaxed my entire body and mind. I strongly recommend the 90 minute massage with Tim! My last treatment was a Facial with Christina which was wonderful. Relaxing, warm towels, exfoliates, scalp massage, hot stones on my arms, moisturizers and healthier looking skin ~ what's not to love?? It was perfect from beginning to end. All the staff was nice and I didn't feel rushed. I came away feeling renewed. I am looking forward to my next "all about me" Spa Day at...
