After a night paddle around Washington Park watching the sunset. My husband and I talked about dinner I suggested to go somewhere we hadn't gone.
We found a place we really like again in Anacortes, The Brown Lantern, has was excellent the food was real good.
My husband ordered Chile burger and fries, small order of onions rings for an appetizer for us to share, I ordered the Carne Asada salad and oh my was that tasty and filling.
It had beans, corn, jalapenos, nice a variety of lettuces, chips along the side, it was very, very flavorful, so yummy, really yummy.
It was a busy place we waited about 20 minutes for sitting but well worth it, the menu has plenty for everyone.
The service was excellent as well, even though it was busy, everyone appeared to be on top of it and helpful...great team work.
I look forward to returning, it's going to be hard for me to want to try something else because that salad was so good, I want another and it's been a few days since we...
Read moreDon’t like posting about great local areas but this place had very poor service, waited at the bar for 10 mins just to get up and ask for menus, had 3 bartenders on and everyone including the guy would just walk past without a greeting or we’ll be with you in a few, had to get up ask for a menu, then wait another 10/15 mins to ask someone walking by to place an order or even a drink order, didn’t think a small bar/grill could make people feel like a ghost, food was alright, order a beef melt and they spilled the aujus on the plate maybe when on the warming area bottom of both sandwiches where soggy and feel apart right when I picked it up, the crab soup was great just cold, but would not recommend this place to eat at, maybe if you would wanna wait for long periods when you seat, and when you track someone down to place a drink order, and then feel uncomfortable asking someone walking by if someone would take your order. But a definite let...
Read moreIt’s a typical dive / nothing really special other than the fact that that these types of places are a cultural phenomenon all across North America.
It took a minute to get service but I found the vegetarian girl server to be charming and at least thoughtful when trying to help me decide on a burger. She had difficulty counting change but seemed to be working alone so I appreciated her patience while managing the floor 🙏.
The food it self was mid, I think the burger was from frozen, perfectly round as you’d imagine. I went on the wild side and order a chili burger and it was a filing slop show as you’d imagine. I was expecting Americana and I was let down
My major gripe was that I paid like 27$ for this meal. I thought it said 19$ in the menu but maybe I read it wrong. Anyways 27$ was insane for this burger and not worth the cost. Perhaps the Rockfish burger is the way to go?
This place is a local watering hole, I wouldn’t...
