What a pleasant surprise to find Tide and Taste, a place that brings big-city dining quality to our local scene. Run by a lovely couple who clearly pour their hearts into every aspect of their restaurant, this spot immediately feels special when you walk in.
The oysters here are simply spectacular - fresh, flavorful, and served with just the right accompaniments to let their natural taste shine through. I've had local oysters in and around Seattle including Anacortes, and these easily stand up to the comparison.
Don't skip dessert! Too often an afterthought at seafood places, the sweet offerings here provide the perfect ending to your meal with flavors that complement rather than overwhelm what came before.
What impressed me most was the thoughtful menu. Every item feels deliberately chosen, creating a dining experience that would be at home in any major food city. The owners' attention to detail shows in everything from the food presentation to the service.
If you're looking for a truly excellent meal without the trip to the big city, Tide and Taste delivers on all fronts. This is destination dining that happens to be right in our...
Read moreAnacortes has lacked a high level restaurant that expands beyond its excessive number of subpar pizza and burger joints. Well, this is no longer the case. FINALLY, a restaurant that understands the need to cater to vegetarians and omnivores alike (A’town used to do this, but not anymore). And finally, a restaurant that could readily compete in Seattle. We used to drive to Coupeville, Langley, or even Seattle to find decent higher-level vegetarian/omnivore food. It is so exciting that I finally can drive five minutes down the road to get a fantastic meal.
My husband loved the raw oysters, grown right here on Fidalgo Island by the Swinomish Shellfish Company. The cocktail menu was fantastic and our entrées were amazing. The staff are incredibly nice and, although I haven’t gone there enough to confirm this, it sounds like they change their menu enough to encourage locals to keep coming back.

Read moreI’ve visited Tide and Taste for their soft opening dinner and happy hour. What a great group! Super nice, great vibe (music particularly). Still needs some decor but I love the open kitchen concept and they make the most out of the long space. Can not wait for the Lounge.
Happy hour cocktails are delicious and unique.
Happy Hour Menu is awesome. Fried chicken is legit and a huge portion for HH. Burger comes with fresh bread that they make and the FRIES! Oh the Fries!! Money!!
For dinner, their soft opening menu has already evolved and it really looks divine. We enjoyed the sunchoke soup, crudo, beet salad, fritters and gnocchi. Steak was yummy too. I have already seen photos of the dishes evolve and get brighter and richer.
Staff for HH was friendly, personal. Our waitress for soft opening was a bit rusty and not as attentive but it was new. Everyone else I’ve met so far...
