The Asian 99 cents store!
For those of you who have never been here before, everything in this store is $1.50!
Of course, you may occasionally find your sale items (usually $1) and your "premium" items such as slippers and umbrellas for $3-4, but when you come to Daiso you come in knowing that you can really stretch your dollar bills here!
Things I love: You come in with a general sense of what you want to buy and are usually surprised to find it... and more! For example, if I am looking for sticky notes, I'll find cute cat sticky notes and even translucent stickers just for marking up pages. Your imagination can really run wild with the random things they choose to sell at this store!
Things I don't love: You MUST have a $10 minimum purchase to use a credit card, otherwise you're forced to use cash or debit. It's an eyesore considering their neighbors are Coach and Nordstrom. Honestly, it feels like they couldn't figure out where to open their store so they stuck it in the promenade because nothing in the mall was open. Cheap is cheap... and sometimes that's the bad thing! Bad as in, if I purchase a 3-pack of carabiner clips and find that two of them break within initially opening the package, Im going to be a little upset despite the small cost of the product itself.
-- But overall, there's really nothing you can't love about Daiso. It's home to a variety of things you may not even know you need or want, and for such a conveniently low...
Read moreProbably the most affordable store here if you could take care of the parking situation and make it worthwhile. The isles are narrow, barely passing two people. For the location, most wore masks. The pricing is an eye test. Search the label on the item(fine prints) where the Yen sign is printed, then look overhead for the conversion to dollar. Not the clearest way to attach price to item but it is the quickest way to adjust prices. Cute toys, tons of choking hazards, fragile items, some food items, undies, ceramics plates, stationeries, like an expanded ABC store from Hawaii, or an all import dollar store with everything $1.75 and up. Felt like maybe half the stuff are $1.75 but for the eye test reason, did not care to check all the prices. Some are cheap, some are not, just general buyers be aware and NO RETURNS. Be prepared to accept total loss if you do shop there. And from experience, their products are in batches of availability and not necessarily stable supply so just keep that in mind on gambling something to be there when you need it on revisit.
Good conversation location to talk to whomever you would bring when you see an item and...
Read moreI took my baby shopping here. When I paid the bill, the child was in a hurry to go to the toilet. I quickly put the things I had to pay the bill on the counter, so I hurriedly took the child out to the toilet. As a result, his clerk rushed out and questioned that I had stolen something! It’s really unreasonable. When I came back to the store after going to the toilet, the clerk had already found what I put at that time and didn‘t apologize. He just said, do you want to pay the bill? This is very disappointing! For parents with children, I want to be a role model instead of being treated as a thief! It was very disappointing and angry behavior, and he scared my child to tears when...
