Today, my world changed!! I usually don’t write online reviews—especially negative ones. I run a business myself and know firsthand how reviews can sometimes be unfair, written from a narrow personal perspective without considering the full picture. So I try to give places the benefit of the doubt.
But after my experience with Clarity Advanced Optometry—along with my wife’s—I feel it's important to share what happened, in case it helps someone else make a better-informed decision.
I visited Clarity once, about a year and a half ago, when I couldn’t get a timely appointment at Linden Optometry, where I had normally gone. Clarity seemed like a convenient alternative.
At the appointment, I explained some concerns I had with my vision, but they didn’t seem to be taken seriously. I was given the same prescription as before. I also bought both contacts and glasses as part of a bundle discount.
When I picked up the glasses and tried them on, I told the young staff member that everything looked “too clear.” He smiled and said, “More clearly is better!!”—but the glasses ended up giving me headaches and were unusable.
In April, my wife went to Clarity for an eye exam and got a new prescription. She didn’t start using the new lenses right away—she had a lot of her old ones left, and the new ones took time to ship. When she finally tried them, she found it hard to see up close, which caused real problems in daily life.
When we reached out to return the unused lenses, we were told the 30-day return window had passed—even though she couldn’t use them and hadn't opened them immediately.
Eventually, she figured out a better prescription on her own and ordered lenses online, which are now working well. But the $600 spent at Clarity was effectively wasted.
Today, I returned to Linden for the first time since that visit to Clarity. They rechecked my eyes and told me the prescription was off. They gave me trial lenses, and as soon as I put them on, everything became clear again—even the original issues I had brought up at Clarity were resolved instantly.
Looking back, it feels like both exams at Clarity were inaccurate, and more importantly, that the staff didn’t really try to help when things didn’t work out. If you genuinely care about your eyesight and expect thoughtful care, I strongly suggest thinking twice before going to Clarity...
Read moreGreat attentive care upon arrival I was greeted immediately and signed in. There was an issue because there was a wrong number and they couldn’t confirm my appointment, but the lady taking care of me make sure to help me so that I could have my appointment.
It was a very short weight from the time I checked in until they did the standard eye tests. The associate that assisted me was very nice and informative and talk to me through all of the processes.
I only waited a few minutes for the doctor to do my eye exam, and I would have to say it was so high-tech. It was amazing. I am a custom to the doctor standing right next to me, clicking circular objects, trying to figure out what works. However, LensCrafters is extremely high tech and they use a computer system, which does the exact same thing. Not only is it high-tech and super amazing not to have somebody close to your face, but it also increases safety during this time of Covid, which is really amazing.
The Dr. Lillian was extremely helpful and informative and the entire exam process was fairly quick however, it was also very accurate.
When I completed my eye exam with the doctor, she walked me out to a representative to talk more about glasses and lens needs.Kassandra was a pleasure to work with. She also took the time to compare prices between the discounts offered versus how much my insurance would cost for my lenses. It was very kind of her to take the time to do that.
I also needed progressive lenses or I would need two pairs of glasses. I had never tried progressive lenses before and so they explain the policy that I had 30 days to try them. I really appreciate that. There’s an opportunity to do that. Otherwise I would be too nervous to try something new that might not work and be stuck with it.
Overall, it was a very amazing experience, and I would highly recommend them to anybody who needs an eye...
Read moreThe doctor was fine but the employees at lenscrafters are incompetent. Every time they attempt to fix my glasses, they seem to make it worse! Most of them are rude. When I called they hung up on me.
The person who performed my prescreening forgot to do some of the tests. Afterwards he was a little creepy by hovering over me when I was trying to pick out frames. I told him that plastic frames don't work for me and he insisted. When I found a pair I liked, the fit was perfect but he decided to adjust it and made it worse. Each adjustment made it even worse. Besides that I told him I was in a hurry but he took his time. Doing everything at least twice. I'm sorry but if you don't know what you are doing then ask for help or tell me to come back later.
I only came here because I usually have a good experience but it's all because of one guy. He no longer works at that store. He knew what he was doing and was friendly. He only needed to do things once and he was truly dedicated. I don't think I will be returning to this store again. I have given its employees more than...
