Excellent book store in Arvada Colorado.great selection of laserdiscs vinyl records board games video games xbox360, playstation 2 magic and Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon decks starter and for the pro's the elder owner most recently passed the store is a lil messy but understandable. they will rise again . Most respect to the current owners hope to see you again soon!!!! . Saddens my heart to write this below bad review. Of a store I've gone to last couple years. Especially upon its new location hopfully things can be fixed. . 3/29/2025 This is an update to the brand new location which they just got off. 6655 wadsworth boulevard one of the most Belligerent employees with expressed malice and prejudice towards me and a personal friend. Without proof video evidence is and was being requested. Being insulted in blame for things that there is no proof for evidence of instead of just insinuating. It's awfully wrong and then going off, Past events that you say had happened before at another location is absolutely a bad call and seen as blameshifting. not to mention very poor character of how you stock the past store to begin with. you wanna really bring up the past it can be told from both sides, bud. if you want your store accessible to sell goods it needs to be in a working order to be seen and not a fire hazard. He is ignorant and needs to be corrected. . I would like to know why he is not putting up his v.H.S collection, instead making it his absolutely last mark And instead putting books inside the collection from which he said was marked as the v h s area. He had the audacity to make the comment, "People were not respecting the vhs boxes, which made us have to change things around." first off me and my friend offered to work for free during the transition of this move at no cost to you[ponttail muscle and glasses employee] or the owners of this company. 2nd off his statement Which was a direct assumption/Jab towards us as we were in there . We all know what an assumption is and we know what they do. They make one out of me and they make one out of you.. . i suggest you put the area that is suggested as vhs up in working order where we dont need to go thru the half opened and opened boxes just to look at future vids my friend would like to own. its not that hard, is it? next trying to bribe my friend of 50$ in store credit, to have him tell me not to post this review was not a good idea. pay that $50 to somebody to stock your shelves and stop trying to destroy a friendship. im a victims advocate. i know how to stand for myself and most importantly i kno how to stand for another. . last nail in this box you say" i had to pay somebody 200$ to correct the boxes your friend left opened." is anabsolute lie. which is why we requested video and a paystub for thus one person you highered "supposedly" upon that next visit which you put my frend in an upset state saying "he was banned." which also was just insult/jab and belittle him and hurt his feelings, he has a good heart and does his best to respect rules. being snide, brash fupl of balddrdash is not a cool way to run your business. unless your just trying to run it into the ground. . the iceing on the cake. my friend is autistic and special needs, he the reason im firm and really asking to speak directly to the owner[s] because i want to know why his muscles ponytail and glasses employee continues to antagonize my friend after all we offered several times to several employees to put that vhs section up for free. yet muscles had to pay someone obiviously under qualfied 200$ for a job of closing boxes my friend went into.[side ? how much is a employee paid daily? 8hours] that were already tops opened and again no proof of not puting them back as asked to begin with . i can single handle by myself put every box of videos you got in that open area that is already there on a shelf in 8 hours or less catorgized nonetheless. ill bet that supposed $200 x 2 on that. i was with my friend willing to do that for free. there is no excuse why that man has to antaganize my...
Read moreWent in with my friend who visits there extremely often and knows some of the staff. I purchased three used CDs because I saw the buy 2 get 1 free on used CDs sign. After seeing my friend purchase something else, I realized tax was not that high and I spent too much on my 3 CDs. While the employee was going to give me store credit, I had to assert myself unfortunately to get my money back as I paid with debit. It was a neat place with lots of items that I was intent on visiting again soon. Thankfully after some perseverance, I got my cash back for the overcharge. This is the optimal outcome including an apology as I was overcharged because the employees didn't recall their deals, which is understandable due to the awesome volume of items they have, however they were at first unwilling to give me anything but store credit until I threatened to not return and to write a poor review, which is something I should not have had to do to get my money back, considering it was an overcharge and not something like a teturn.
In the end, they made it right, and there is no hard feelings, however lessons to learn especially when dealing with a brand new customer you want to win over. I am super appreciative they made it right and it says plenty about a business. Please continue to do these practices and I am sure your business will stay prosperous for years, as I will be sure to mention it to others. I recommend anyone looking for new or used media to come to this location, the staff was helpful in searching for certain items, and I walked away pleased in the end.
I will be sure to come back, as I was eyeing some of the amazing new taylor swift vinyls in stock, but have to check on what I have already first. Cheers and...
Read moreStill one of the better (and relatively few remaining) secondhand media stores in the Denver area. I have been coming here for most of their 25+ year history. Clerks and customers have come and gone, but the experience is always a little different and usually worthwhile if you're willing to step over stacks and enjoy spending time browsing for your particular media.
The store is split into two sections, the 'black' side for music and memorabilia, and the 'read' half for games, movies and books. First, the 'black' half.
They have a collection of moderate- to lesser-known music on hand, almost all Western genres. Their specialized hip hop and metal collections have wanted recently but sometimes you get lucky with a recent customer's trade-ins. Their vinyl selection, especially new, has grown stagnant over recent years, outside of Record Store Day orders. The bins usually have some hidden gems of used vinyl/CDs/and tapes to comb over. Don't bother with hot new releases, not that kind of store.
The 'read' side is a bibliophile's dream, and has the cheapest game prices and best selection this side of the Amazon. I always go here first for selecting or trying out new tabletop games. Lots of used D&D and other vintage RPG modules, too. The DVD selection is hit and miss, as are used video games.(most titles are 5-10+ years old, don't count on anything more recent to be in stock). Gamer Staples like dice and card sleeves are on hand, and they have the most affordable packs of Magic cards in Colorado.
Overall, a relic of a store with reliable staff and 'luck of the draw' selection. If you're passing through northern Denver or need a media fix, they'll have...
