Let me just say that I have visited Good will stores in a all across the state. I have watched Goodwill morph into the money hungry greed machine it is today. The latest scam is the " want to roundup for our job program ?. " I know this for a fact . The job training center has been closed for three years since Covid made it's debut. So I want to know where that money is going. Not here that's for sure. I have yet to get and answer . Trust me I ask. The one in Asheboro is the worst I have visited. The manager is rude and just unpleasant . The store is laid out like a maze to sell new over priced cheaply made merchandise. They have lost their way. And at a time when the whole country is feeling the pinch and sting of corporate greed and Goodwill is leading the pack. I visited last night was purchasing a toy truck and a brass hanger. This toy was marked 2 bucks and the brass hanger had no price. Cashier called manager on duty. Well lo and behold she decides the toy should be 3 dollars now and proceeds to try and take more from me for something given to her. One dollar. Not much you might say. To me it might as well been one hundred. Keep it all was my response. This store is one to steer away from. Or go and give to an imaginary job program to a store with questionable ethics to a manager with the manners and attitude better suited an IRS agent. Either way she will get...
Read moreMy daughter and I went to the Goodwill in Asheboro today to look for her some maternity clothes. We both use to love this store but today made me rethink all the money I have spent in that place! We found my pregnant daughter a pair of shoes$4.99, she tried them on and they were comfy. She throws them in the buggy. Well then we seen a pair of Sperry’s and they were her size and only $2.99! She said I’m getting these cause that’s a deal. We get to the register and the lady looks at the shoes and said I can’t sale these at this price. I said yes you can because that is what they are priced at. She said she had to get permission to do that. This lady took both pair of shoes to the back while we waited. She comes back out there and said they were priced wrong and now the price is $9.99. I said you can keep them and I continued to tell her how wrong that was! They had an employee make a mistake but yet we were buying them at the price they are labeled. That like having a price on a car or something and then when you say yea that’s the one I won’t, you change the price for 3 times what the label said! That was very uncalled for... she then threw the receipt at my daughter! I hope our $2. 99 shoes was worth the money I spend in that store because I...
Read moreThere’s an older lady I think she wears glasses with long hair.. rude as can be turning goodwill into greedwill, Saw a pair of pants being brought out on a new rack started walking towards the rack for the jeans and she RUNS over and snatched them, I asked if I could see them before she puts them away thinking she was just putting them where they go & she says “NO, these are $150 jeans!!! They have to be repriced!!!” Even though they were already on the floor, (they definitely weren’t $150 jeans..) then charged me 3x as much the regular price , Few days later I went , a young woman went to try on a few items and that lady started banging on the door for her to get the cart out of the dressing room, after she told them she has a baby who’s sitting in the cart while she tried on clothes.. sameee day A guy was sitting in one of the chairs and the same lady comes up behind him and smacks several times on the table and tells him he can’t sit and to get up like she couldn’t of just said hey sorry, you can’t sit here. Won’t be going back with mrs.menace to society working there. If you’re reading this please shop/donate to Salvation Army, or live to give next to planet fitness ! The workers there are always so friendly and fair, ESPECIALLY...
